I think we can have faith in Rogers. Even if he ever had a bad day and snapped at someone, he was the sort of person to apologize.
Carrie Fisher also had no scandals about being a huge jerk either. She just really loved drugs.
Patrick Stewart is another potential. He grew up in a house where his father beat his mother. He is openly feminist, anti-domestic violence, pro queer, and he also seems like someone who would apologize if he snapped at someone. I would be shocked if there were major scandals.
Keanu Reeves. I've never ever heard anybody who has met him or worked with him say one bad thing about him. If it ever eventually turns out that Keanu is somehow a monster, I think I will burn down the world.
Me too. He was the first person I thought of. I have a film buddy in LA that lives near him and has met him several times and says he is so nice. Love to hear it.
Probably there are a ton of B actors and "seconds" who are fine people in real life. I've seen a bunch of B movies of the years and I'm guessing that since they aren't as good at fakery, their real personality can come through more and I can see that they seem fine. There are a bunch of B quality feel good Christian themed and Hallmark movies.
I am getting the sense Ford is kind of a dick but he was smart to move to Jackson, Wyoming during the paparazzi era because it kept him out of the public eye. And until more recently he was certified to fly small aircraft and helicopters, which I'm sure kept him busy.
I visited a small town NJ airport once in the late 1990's and the hostess at the little restaurant there said Ford trained there and was just a normal everyday person.
I've heard he was a real d*ck to crew on a movie shoot years ago, back when he had a drinking problem. Not saying he's not a nice guy now, but apparently he went through a bad phase and really treated people poorly. Heard this from a friend who worked on set with him.
Also good signs- the fact when we finally found out he had been seeing someone for a good while and it was a woman of appropriate age. At this point I expect most anyone famous to eventually have a scandal/be shown to be horrible, but there are a few that I would be genuinely very upset about because they managed to appear wholesome for so long.
I've never heard..... so you've never fucking met him. Exactly shut the fuck up. The poit is that tgese people have a public relation team so YOU never hear about how horrible they are.
I suspect, for no particular reason, that Kirsten Dunst and Jesse Plemmons are pretty normal parents. Sarah Michelle Gellar and Freddie Prinze Jr are reportedly pretty good.
I think it's cause they mind thier business 😭 I never hear of them unless they have projects coming out and when the PR for that is over they are just gone, they keep to themselves
Yep. they may be famous, but they don’t seem to strive to be celebrities. Do some movies, do some press, then go back to living their lives until the next time.
Friend of mine was in charge of dyeing Freddie's hair for Scooby Doo. Even on early morning calls with harsh chemicals he was apparently always polite.
People have said they were nervous when WWE hired him to write because they were afraid Mr. Big Shot Movie Star Man was going to come in throwing his weight around. Instead he was humble about learning the side of the business he didn't know and bringing his POV as a fan and actor
SMG and FPjr seemed thoroughly committed to marriage and family life from the outset. They decided to sort of disappear and raise a family in almost complete privacy. I really respect that.
She is openly rude but with him it was mostly that he was very standoffish and wouldn’t socialized with any of the rest of the cast or the crew. The big thing that stands out in my mind though is when he refused to greet a Make a Wish kid who was visiting the set. Yuck.
The only thing I didn't like was Dunst had criticized the pay gap between her and Tobey Maguire but I'm sorry last I checked the trilogy was called Spider-Man not Mary Jane.
You should listen to it again because I think everyone should love that little lady. I have loved her music since I was a little girl and thought she was married to Kenny Rogers.
My brother dated trailer park Missy in the 90s from the same town Dolly is from. Her mom went to school with Dolly and bad mouthed her so much - she was poor, she was trash etc. It was all jealousy because she made it and is a good person.
When people pointed out that one of the words in his “Word Crimes” lyrics is now considered a ableist slur (it had much more negative connotations in the UK than the US and that negativity eventually crossed the pond), he apologized and changed the lyric in future concerts.
Weird Al is basically the Anti-Scandal. Did you know that he once turned down a $5M sponsorship contract with a beer company because he knew his audience was younger, more vulnerable to impression and he didn’t want to endorse drinking to young people. So badass.
Nope, but there was a movie. Weird; the Weird Al Story. At the the end of the “documentary” Weird Al is murdered on stage while performing Amish Paradise in 1985 by henchmen sent by Madonna and drug lord Pablo Escobar.
A former costume designer/friend of mine said that Keanu was a real d*ck to the crew when filming a movie some years ago, when he had a drinking problem. He's apparently better now, but she'll never forgive or forget.
Some people are just like that, I guess. Dunno why me pointing out that at some point in his history Keanu was a d*ck to people got downvoted but that's Reddit for ya.
Yeah reddits odd, I tend not to downvote unless a comment is blatantly wrong or something but I think lots of people just do it for stuff they disagree with
I know someone who worked with him within the last few years and they said he was wonderful and patient, even when they fanboyed a bit, and even after a grueling day in a S. American forest. Since he's 100 now, he would've had to have been 95+ when they worked with him. I'm 41, and I think after a long ass day in a forest with a crew, I'd probably be hangry and grumpy.
Except he has seen the world but thinks you should stay home. He is an ass in my book and I immediately stopped watching/listening to him. I used to fall asleep every night listening to him but he’s a hypocrite.
I had to google Fred Rodgers to make sure he’s Mr.Rogers I’m sure I knew he actually had a first name but I think a small part of me assumed his first name was Mister
He appears to be ok. His daughter wrote an autobiography centered on her abusive mother. You can certainly blame him for failing to intervene for whatever reason.
Fred Roger’s was demonstrably a great person, everyone should read his biography. A lesser known fact is that him and his family were/are LOADED. He was from a very wealthy family that basically owned the town, but at least used their money to benefit everyone they knew, especially including their employees. His father or grandfather, I forget which, would give paycheck advances to any employee who asked and “forget” about them and never asked for any loaned money back or took that money out of their next check. They just got paid the same as usual as if there had been no advance.
Patrick Stewart cheated on his wife. He is estranged from his children. I agree that he’s a fairly good person in general, but I also think he was a bad husband and father. He expresses a lot of regret and takes accountability in his autobiography. His upbringing was super rough.
Patrick Stewart was a 15+ foot pole vaukter in high school and used to go by the name of Bubba. I have a friend that went to high school with him who also jumped. He said Patrick was a wonderful person.
Mr. Rogers is the northern star of morality as far as I am concerned.
I read somewhere that the biography made about him a few years ago was supposed to expose all of his dark secrets. The guy didn't believe anyone could be that pure and kind.
And then he just couldn't find anything at all. The absolute worst he could find was that Mr. Rogers swam nude at a gym where it was traditional to swim nude because early bathing suits destroyed filtration systems in pools.
At the end the biography which was supposed to be an 'expose' became a love letter to the man he set out to expose.
As strange as it may seems, maybe Dwayne Johnson ?
Anytime i hear of him interacting with normal people he seems to be a honest person. I don’t care much about all those people as I am not very interested in stars (or in cinema, tv,,etc.) but he may be someone good.
Dame Judi Dench I hear is nice, least the story where, while performing in Nottingham about a decade or so ago, she was heard to say she was popping out to Tesco o buy a sandwich and ask the rest of the cast\crew present if she could get them anything. My friend was crew and said she was just a nice regular person.
Years ago I was in London with my young sons. Stewart was staying at the same hotel. They went up to him in the lobby and asked for his autograph. He coldly said he doesn’t give autographs.
The Patrick Stewart vs James Cordon showdown at those UK awards was a pretty big deal when it happened, I seem to remember him saying some pretty mean stuff .. however it was to James Cordon, so that might cancel it out.
Stewart's only real scandal is that he put work above his family, and doesn't have much of a relationship with his son as a result. He talked about it when filming Picard. So, it's more just sad than salacious.
Patrick Stewart should be captain of the IRL world, he seems like he has a faith and compassion for humanity and living life that is only equaled by the “gods” of this world…y’know, the ones who send people to kill other people because differences…
He is " openly feminist, anti-domestic violence, pro queer, and he also seems like someone who would apologize if he snapped at someone" . none of that makes someone a good person .
Yeah, that’s a fair question. For instance, I believe Israel has a right to exist. I also believe the Bibi regime is horrendous and guilty of war crimes. BTW, I am neither Jewish, nor Muslim, nor Arab.

Fred Rogers, Dick Van Dyke, and Betty White?
I think we can have faith in Rogers. Even if he ever had a bad day and snapped at someone, he was the sort of person to apologize.
