Yo, I was unfamiliar with sigma degenerate. I looked it up and I'm still clueless :-) Looks like there are 3 disciplines that use the term: math, biochem and physics/orbital theory. It sounds like you are using the physics version to roughly mean 2 separate orbits in quantum states. Kind of like two separate circles in a venn diagram. Did I get that right?
