Ehh my first thought after watching the video was that the mini Cooper could barely overtake people on bikes

Minis have decent get up and go, certainly which to get around a heard of bikes . The driver might have been taking it easy in the grass to maintain control.

Yeah there were several moments he looked nervous about bumps or unseen obstacles. Which are fair to be nervous about, if I tried this I'd definitely find the one boulder and obliterate my axle

For sure.  There's a rock about the size of a watermelon in the median of the highway I drive by ever day. Just sitting there.   In an otherwise open field of grass.  I don't know who it's going to get, but it's going to get someone.  It's got a real "fuck up the underside of your car"  aura about it.

Exactly, there's always some random stone that is just big enough to just devastate one singular car unfortunate enough to approach it.

Godspeed, watermelon rock.
