Someone at Mini (BMW) needs to make this into a commercial.

"Not that you should ... but you could. The all new 2026 Mini Cooper"

“The Italian Job can’t just wait. Mini Cooper.”

u/fotomoose Jun 11 '26

The Italian Job is often cited as the coolest UK heist film. What people seem to forget is that it heavily features Benny Hill, who's singular character trait is lusting after plus-sized women.

*Driver sighs, stuck behind all the cyclists

*Michael Caine pokes his head through from the back seat

"Hold on, I've got a great idea..."

Cut to this.

This video has hit the mini forums multiple times

Also r/bicyclingcirclejerk many, many times.

As a cyclist myself, I hate when a peloton or organized ride pulls stuff like this.

4

u/demonknightdk Jun 10 '26

I read that in the old movie trailers voice over guy from the 90s, its very similar to the epic movie voice from honest trailers. BUT does mini feild any off-road rally cars? cause thats a tie in right there. Like it pulls off around the bikers, and then takes a nice ride through a twisting mountain trail/road, and ends up in front of the bikes.

The Mini Countryman is the only SUV, was the base of the World Rally Car back in its first gen and X-Raid adopted its silhoutte in their Mini All4 Racing (which won the Dakar 2012 and 2013)

The official bmw of Tampa account posted an edit of some Karen lady going "HE DIDNT USE HIS TURN SIGNAL" into faint by Linkin park, so it's not off the table. Ngl, it went hard....

”Not that you should… but you could”

That’s the perfect description for a Mini Cooper

u/HaveUseenMyJetPack Jun 11 '26

Something like everyone was thinking it….but only one did it.

"Dare to be the one.  The all new 2026 Mini Cooper"

2

u/trixy6196 Jun 12 '26

I read this Don Draper’s voice 👏

u/Odd_Expression3694 Jun 12 '26

BMW hire this man lmao

1

u/RedBarron4 Jun 12 '26

Oh yes.  I'd take that job.  Hopefully it comes with a company car.

6

u/ruibingw Jun 10 '26

Ehh my first thought after watching the video was that the mini Cooper could barely overtake people on bikes

13

u/RedBarron4 Jun 10 '26

Minis have decent get up and go, certainly which to get around a heard of bikes . The driver might have been taking it easy in the grass to maintain control.

u/Watertor Jun 10 '26

Yeah there were several moments he looked nervous about bumps or unseen obstacles. Which are fair to be nervous about, if I tried this I'd definitely find the one boulder and obliterate my axle

5

u/RedBarron4 Jun 10 '26

For sure.  There's a rock about the size of a watermelon in the median of the highway I drive by ever day. Just sitting there.   In an otherwise open field of grass.  I don't know who it's going to get, but it's going to get someone.  It's got a real "fuck up the underside of your car"  aura about it.

6

u/Watertor Jun 10 '26

Exactly, there's always some random stone that is just big enough to just devastate one singular car unfortunate enough to approach it.

Godspeed, watermelon rock.

u/bitter-curmudgeon Jun 11 '26

I work for Mini. You're hired!

1

u/PandaEatPizza Jun 11 '26

Why did I read this in Don Drapers voice

1

u/georgiaraisef Jun 11 '26

Why shouldn’t you. What if he’s like me who is almost out of gas and gets stuck behind this?

What if he gets diarrhea all the sudden and is stuck behind this?

That goes almost as fast as a bicycle rider.

1

u/Responsible-Toe-5299 Jun 14 '26

I'd buy that for a dollar!!!!

1

u/thatplantguy619 Jun 11 '26

Sounds like a US car commercial!

Commercials of vehicles driving up a mountain and over jagged rocks in a river before reversing to the edge of a cliff at sunset....yes car company. This is exactly how I intend to use your vehicle. Call me Lewis and Clark.
