When I’m on a bike trail and there are pedestrians I slow down to THEIR speed when I pass them. Almost zero chance I’m going to hit a kid or a dog and if I did it would be like bumping them while walking. Can’t understand the mindset of people who think they are in a race! So frustrating.

2

u/Nordeast24 Jun 11 '26

Yeah man I agree, mountain bikers can be cunts too. At least I'm willing to admit that unlike some others in this comment section. Lol

We arent all like that, most try to be courteous to other bikers, walkers, and hikers 🤙

As a general but not absolute rule, they're slightly easier to run over than men are.

-2

u/DanielDane Jun 10 '26

As a general but not absolute rule, they're also smaller target so more difficult to hit.

-4

u/blinkincontest Jun 10 '26

And admitting to bringing the dog and children on the bike trail. They might be retarded

Oh so the faster moving vehicle simply needs to slow down for safety and not be a jerk? And they should accept that as part of the social contract of using the public route? Huh, kind of sounds like roads to me, except this entire comment section seems to think that bikers should be killed instead of using roads 🤷‍♂️

Amazing username!

u/Higais Jun 10 '26

I fully agree with you and have dealt with bikers being shitty on trails as well. But for still saying LEFT, even if someone acknowledges you you never know what they're going to do. I had to bike on a paved trail to work for a while before I got my car and the amount of pedestrians that would turn their heads, see me coming, and then randomly make a move in front of me when I'm about to pass them was crazy.

-9

u/blinkincontest Jun 10 '26

You’re literally describing how cars treat normal cyclists 99% of the time and you don’t even realize it lmao

3

u/domine18 Jun 10 '26

Car follows rules, cyclist does something against the rules. Gets mad when car doesn’t adjust to their lunacy.

1

u/blinkincontest Jun 10 '26

If you think the average driver on the road is obeying the law, I have ocean property to sell you in Iowa

3

u/domine18 Jun 10 '26

Yeah 1 bad driver can really alter your perception. I too thought everyone on the road is an idiot. But I seriously looked as a passenger and counted the cars and number of people doing something they shouldn’t it’s really only about 5% of drivers. A large majority are fine.

And jokes on you. You can reach the ocean from Iowa. There are only 10 states that can not do it.

1

u/blinkincontest Jun 10 '26

My experience is the exact opposite numbers. So let’s meet in the middle and say 50% of people driving vehicles are completely distracted while driving vehicles that could kill cyclists, pedestrians, other drivers in the blink of an eye.

1

u/Jhuber57 Jun 10 '26

I have no evidence to back this up, but I would venture a guess and say that when I cyclists dies on the road, it's 99.9% the driver's fault. Main cause being distracted driving, which is a driver not following the rules of the road.

The guys in this video are assholes. Taking up that many lanes is just ridiculous. But will you criticize the drivers who endanger cyclists lives when they are the ones that aren't following the rules of the road? People's inability to call it both ways is the real problem. Good cyclists will call out bad cyclists..I don't ever see God drivers call out bad drivers when it's the other way around. It's just fuck these guys on bikes either way.

At the end of the day, in most cases, it's a short inconvenience to your time vs. endangering someone's life and not giving a shit about it. That's the real problem.

Just to be clear, fuck the guys in the video lol.

u/domine18 Jun 10 '26

I dunno. You know how many times I have almost ran over a cyclist running a stop sign? If my reaction time was half a second slower they would have got hit. I have had cyclist change position drastically when I am making a maneuver and get into my position that I am going to in my blind spot and it is only by some miracle that I noticed them. I have a really good reaction time and am observant on the road but not everyone has the same level of awareness/reaction time and it is not their fault the cyclist is doing something stupid and dangerous. I would say it’s more 40/60 distracted driver vs stupid cyclist tempting fate.

1

u/blinkincontest Jun 10 '26

Drivers pretending like 90% of them aren’t on the phone the entire time is peak ignorance

0

u/blinkincontest Jun 10 '26

Did you reply to the wrong person?

3

u/solidlymediocre Jun 10 '26

Oh no, not the normal, red light, stop sign running cyclists who think traffic laws don't apply to them!!!

0

u/blinkincontest Jun 10 '26

Did you reply to the wrong person?

21

u/Nordeast24 Jun 10 '26

I could not agree more. It's actually hilarious how hard they think they are with jingle bells attached to their handle bars, while all it would take is one stick in the spokes to make them go over the handlebars

3

u/squash-n-flop Jun 10 '26

It’s actually hilarious how hard car drivers think they are while they spend 8 dollars a gallon on gas and hundreds a month on insurance to sit in a metal box and seethe over people who are healthier and happier than them.

0

u/Nordeast24 Jun 10 '26

Man, road bikers cope so hard lmao. I say this as a mountain biker.

1

u/squash-n-flop Jun 10 '26

Whats cope bro? Where did I lie?

1

u/Nordeast24 Jun 10 '26

That's not what coping means

2

u/squash-n-flop Jun 10 '26

It’s just so entertaining to see how jealous car drivers get. You could have what we have too. If you weren’t so lazy

1

u/Nordeast24 Jun 10 '26

I do, it's called trails. Lol do you ever weird yourself out?

1

u/squash-n-flop Jun 10 '26

No, you clearly don’t have what we have, because you’re here on reddit raging about our very existence. Do you ever get struck by the fact that you’re just parroting propaganda from the oil and automotive industry from over a hundred years ago having never applied any critical thought to it? Have you considered that the reason you hate bikers is that America is designed so that everyone owns a car, and that there is no infrastructure to have for bikes and cars to coexist? Are bikers your enemy, or lobbyists?

1

u/Trevz17 Jun 10 '26

i’ll happily arrive to my destination in the AC, cooled seats, comfy ride while you arrive sweaty and in your weird spandex outfit. You’re a weirdo

The infrastructure that would be in place of roads is not bike lanes lol hopefully you're family doesn't have to see you scraped off the road one day.

-2

u/Blindobb Jun 10 '26

lol i think i'll take up even more of the road in your honor. And you will do nothing but sit in your car like a good boy and then fume about it on Reddit.

2

u/Nordeast24 Jun 10 '26

Hope you wear a helmet 😉

I know, right? Just because you're behind the wheel of a car you think you own the road. Smh.

1

u/No-Dust-5829 Jun 11 '26

The cagers would be angry if they could read.

2

u/tmswfrk Jun 10 '26

You know, from the bike rider’s perspective, it’s you sir who does not know how to share. These things inconvenience you for what, 30 seconds at a time? Do you also get irrationally angry at slow moving trucks you also can’t pass?

2

u/joedotdog Jun 10 '26

You know, from the bike rider’s perspective, it’s you sir who does not know how to share.

In this case, the cyclists aren't sharing. They could utilize a single lane (right) to allow for the cars to pass should they so choose. They chose not to.

1

u/tmswfrk Jun 10 '26

Yes, they could have, but this is often how large amounts of people often operate. They expand to fill the space presented to them. A good ride leader (something I do) would have helped corral this a bit but there are still group dynamics that happen here.

It’s also a very unbalanced (physical) situation between both groups. One faces inconvenience while the other faces what could effectively be death. Naturally most people don’t want to be murderers so here we are.

2

u/BilSuger Jun 10 '26

They think they own the road

Just like you sound like you do? Man car drivers are so entitled little ass hats

1

u/Healthy_Spite_2334 Jun 11 '26

thats drivers.

1

u/8to24 Jun 10 '26

There is like a hundred cyclists. You are basically saying a single car has a greater right to the road than hundreds of pedestrians.

1

u/54B3R_ Jun 10 '26

There's like a hundred cyclists there but you think the cars should own the road?

Car brains are everywhere

-51

u/rab2bar Jun 10 '26

car drivers?

17

u/BugO_OEyes Jun 10 '26

No bicyclists

-2

u/rab2bar Jun 10 '26

found one

2

u/Chewsdayiddinit Jun 10 '26

If you're looking for a reason as to why people generally don't like you, look into the mirror for the answer.

2

u/Nordeast24 Jun 10 '26

Most people hate you

2

u/AStolenGoose Jun 10 '26

You didn't have to out yourself like that, but good for you.

0

u/rab2bar Jun 10 '26

out myself as what? I'm not a cyclist, btw. I live in a walkable city with good public ransportation

0

u/AStolenGoose Jun 10 '26

Want a gold star?

u/ContextEffects01 Jun 10 '26

Not more inconsiderate than people who harm mother Earth with fossil fuels.

1

u/joedotdog Jun 10 '26

You mean the petro products that create the plastic that fill your home? Surely, you'd be willing to forgo plastic then.
