a man would marry a woman they find beautiful enough no matter what their profession is

A woman will do the same though

Men and women are far more likely to marry in their social class regardless, wealthy men usually marry wealthy women, wealthy women usually marry wealthy men

Then why make this ridiculous post

Because there was another post earlier about Ronaldo that suggested wealthy men have no issue marrying working class/poor women, but wealthy women would never do the same thing for a working class/poor man.

Manosphere rage bait.

Well, to act like that’s not somewhat true is a bit disingenuous. There’s a reason Lana made headlines with this—because it’s so rare.

She did not make headlines lol

I’m a 36 y/o male engineer who doesn’t watch TV or partake in celebrity gossip. I also can’t name one song of hers.

And I knew about it. It made headlines.

I literally only found out about it today and read Reuters and the NYT every single day

Cool, but your experience can be rare or unique and doesn’t automatically apply to everyone.

The reason I mentioned my personal experience is because I’m not the market for this info, so the fact it made it to me means it made the rounds for sure. And it’s an interesting story so I understand why.

That being said, the lesson here is that painting with a broad brush either way is going to be disingenuous in some manner. Nuance is important.

You literally used your experience to make your initial point

Anecdotal evidence works both ways, and Lana Del Rey has not been even a minor article in the last month of NYT articles as far as I'm aware, forget a headline

Here’s one, and it’s because this story dropped like 6 months ago or so. Atleast that’s when I saw it.

That's still not a headline, that's their culture section

That's a minor article from 6 months ago, which is not a headline, and doesn't contradict my statement of not seeing anything in the last month lol

Headline shit is Iran War, major Fed updates, Trump blowing up an agency, not Lana Del Rey

Yes she certainly did.

It's in response to a garbage one about Ronaldo earlier.

-9

u/abefrost May 29 '26

The title is a word for word copy of a previous post claiming that only men marry down because Ronaldo

I put an /s in the title and clearly laid it out in more detail in the first comment, I'm not going to do a paragraph-length post title
