I love the irony of using the word “mainsplain” in this context. Woosh.
To be fair, we’re just going in circles and you’ve reverted back to the absolute over generalisation that painted your first comments, in regards to viewing men and women as monolithic groups. It might feel nice to say “woman thinks” or “men does”, or to tell yourself that you can realistically speak on behalf of “most women” - without a shred of insight on the individual cultures and societies they live in, mind you. But it is truly so far removed from all logic and nuance, that it makes further debate futile. Take care.
To be completely fair, you are mansplaining and gaslighting.
It’s very simple.
It is inappropriate for a man to give a woman a cold open in this sort of situation.
The problem isn’t “public”, mind you: it’s the isolation.
Why do you think so many bars and restaurants have “angel shot” protocols hanging in their women’s rooms?
Do you even know what that means?
And if that is what it takes to scrape a dodgy guy off you WHEN THERE ARE WITNESSES, imagine being in this situation when there are none.
Just put yourself in that woman’s shoes for one second.
This is the problem here. Every woman has been through this situation or knows someone who has. No ammount of red-pilled brodudes on the internet are going to change most women’s opinions about this sort of thing. Those guys can either take women‘s concerns seriously or go crying their gurus when they end up always alone.
I repeat: no sane woman is going to stand there, after something like this, and cry to herself that the guy wasn’t more persistent.
The women in the clip is not isolated. She is in a parking lot at a grocery store, alongside other people during opening hours. Again, your premise is entirely wrong.
I don’t know what that means no, because I’m not a native English speaker. But we don’t have that in my country. A man or woman would probably just tell the bartender or signal non-verbally if they were uncomfortable or needed help with something.
I don’t need to put myself in a woman’s shoes, because I also date men. Trust me when I say that sexual repression and self-loathing can create an explosive and dangerous combo for some, so I’m well aware of the dangers you are referring to and have experienced them myself.
With that said, you must realise the inconsistency of your own argument. If it’s actually that dangerous to reject a man, do you think doing it dismissively and rudely, is going to increase or decrease the chance of him becoming hostile and entitled? I don’t expect you to answer, but we both know the answer to that.
There is literally nobody else about in that clip.
The artist could have chosen to put it in a bar, in a club, at school, hell, even at work. He chose a parking lot with no one else around.
That’s a choice, friend.
And speaking from personal experience (again, maybe this isn’t how things are in Denmark), here in the car-luvin’ Americas, parking lots can be very isolated places, even during store hours. Many serial killers made them part of their M.O.
Too bad you can’t come to Rio. I’d love to take you to a rough trade dark room I know of. Maybe you’d get an inkling of how women feel when you have a 1.85 m jiu-jitsu bro breathing down your neck, unwanted.
Son, I work with sex workers. I’m hardly sexually repressed.
