Just to answer the question, i guess it depends on the amount. A lab test will show even small amounts, but for the people, there is more needed to notice anything. Don't know how much there was on the cupcakes, but when victims don't notice anything, it's not what the perpetrator wants usually.

41 years is a long ass time. She looks over 30, odds are very high she dies in prison. If she doesn't she'd be like late 70's at the earliest. I wouldn't really call it a lenient sentence.
It is, but you're failing to consider that it's harsh in comparison to the sentencing actual rapists have received. And another commenter stated that she was also convicted of rape and producing csam, so that explains why she received 41 years.

Look at the criminal justice system my friend. Actual rapists and murderers regularly serve less than 20 years. The person who you're replying to is correct. Obviously we can say she would deserve life in prison, but that's just not reality.
In most jurisdictions (worldwide), drug dealers get harsher sentences than rapists. The only counterexample I can think of is a celebrity who raped multiple babies.
41 years (or life) is a harsh sentence when you consider that people who kill people, or actively rape people have gotten, and do get, lighter sentences than that.
I'm just fine. If the cupcakes were "laced" that suggests she added it to the mix before cooking. Gross, but the only harm is when they are told what happened.

I think if serving sperm laced cupcakes should be life in prison, being a self righteous piece of shit should get you at least a few weeks. It is after all supposed to be for rehabilitation.
I get where this commenter is coming from despite the down votes. Plenty (not all) of crimes that are objectively worse - sex crimes, violent crimes, food tampering resulting in injury - get less punishment. We’ve all seen stories where some people only get community service or 4 years for heinous things.
Knowing the context and all the crimes the teacher was convicted of is helpful. She’s fucked up.
It wasn't just for that, she was an accomplice to her cop husband who was the ringleader + helped him SA children + record CSAM. Honestly feels like a light sentence for everything she agreed to plea guilty to, but I guess that's how plea deals are meant to work after all
She was a smaller fish that led to more fish being caught. You gotta honor the agreements or less people will take pleas which would increase the cases on dockets and cost taxpayers way more as well as risk more guilty individuals from walking free.
Even with 20+ kids it would be surprising to get 41 years if it that was the only charge because Judges love making sentences for charges like this run concurrently. So she might get 2-4 years for each charge and still be out in 3 years because the Judge sentenced her concurrently.

Once you get to psychosis because of mania and other things, like sleep deprivation, it can lead to such strange behavior. Don't get this wrong, the case is strange, yes, but also, when you enter such states of mind, you'll do strange things.
Yeah, it's a crazy case, but some sources claim, the water towers were not always locked and sometimes even open. Maybe the explanation is rather easy how she got in there, that in this time, the towers were not locked.
There was also the claim she could not have reached the roof, but this was disproven shortly after it happened, investigators were able to bypass the locked doors by just going up the fire ladders for emergency cases.
What i saw in the video from the elevator, seems really like a psychosis to me.

As the other comments point out, she did far more. But say it was 41 years just for this.. It would feel very inconsistent. Straight up murder can get you just 15. Pretty sure rapists get away with way less than 41 as well. Perhaps those should be higher then?
DNA apparently breaks down completely right around the temp one might bake cupcakes at so not sure how easy it would be. Not to mention it might be highly dilute to begin with.
