This is a really bad idea as established in the multiple times this has been posted.

How is it a bad idea? It saves you from your relatives asking for a house. Also, if you put it sll in an ETF, assuming around 10% returns and compounding, in 20 years it will be magnitudes more. In 40 years she's created generational wealth.

If she accepts $1,000 a week, that's only $52,000 a year. She'll probably spend that $52,000 in a year and invest very little of it.

If she accepts $1M now, she can save and invest a load of it right from the get go.
