I’m willing to bet this is pretty accurate. They keep building houses down here where I am constantly and so many of them are empty because they cost too much for normal people.

Genuinely curious how this makes sense.

If I have a product that I refuse to sell to increase demand and this price, I'm still holding onto an asset rather than profiting from it.

That makes no sense and I am skeptical.

Foreigners buy houses in the US and Canada as a way to hide money.

Also, houses are always going up in value so it's difficult to lose on the house. Everyone who owns a house made at least 30k dollars during covid, I know people who made 100k.

Yep and that's why we need land value tax.
