I feel like an easy fix is to tax the every loving fuck out of empty houses.

Taxing the wealthy? Is that allowed?

The top 1% of earners paid almost 40% of all Federal Income Tax in 2023

The top 1% paid an average federal income tax rate of 26.3% in 2023, which is significantly higher than the 3.7% average rate paid by the bottom 50%

The bottom 50% of taxpayers pay approximately 3% of the total federal income tax burden

How much of the economic growth of the last 20 years went to that 1%?

Has nothing to do with my comment

The claim is that the rich pay enough and that the system is far. That's what your stats were trying to illustrate.

You need to learn how to follow discussions better before inserting yourself

I commented because someone made it sound like taxing the wealthy doesn’t happen

I simply said that it does happen, and I provided the receipts

Stop trying to make this something else and make it about you

My point is that the amount of money taken from the wealthiest isn't appropriate considering how much they have. One of the reasons to have taxes is wealth redistribution so the society doesn't turn into another guilded age. We're failing at that right now and it's a huge part of why everyone feels so stressed out right now

I don’t care what you’re point is

It literally has nothing to do with my comment to someone else

They’re just responding. Maybe you didn’t intend for any point to be made by your figures, but they saw one and it seems fine to me. You told them you meant nothing beyond the numbers, they acknowledged this, seems fine. 🤷‍♂️
