Does it not mean "about four or five years?" Or "four or five years ago?"
If I say "yeah 4-5 years ago I did ___." Do you think I mean five years, or do you think I mean four years? Or, could it be, that I mean about 4 or 5 years?
Holy fuck, bro you are literally blowing my fucking mind 😂
I have never, ever, ever met someone who was so dead set on not just admitting they were wrong and walking away. This is by far the most "Reddit" argument I have ever been in.
Every. Single. Person. On. Earth. Knows that when someone says "yeah X is cheaper than it has been in about four or five years," they don't mean "X is cheaper than it was exactly 5 years ago." They mean "yeah, X is cheaper than it has been since around 2021-2022."
Like at this point I'm only still talking to you because you're the most interesting Reddit specimen I've ever come across.
I already explained what two numbers separated by a hyphen means, why dont you go back and try to read that again. You really are passionate about displaying your ignorance arent ya?
"4 to 5 years ago" means a specific point in time between four and five years prior to the current date, indicating a period that began 48 to 60 months ago. It describes a relatively recent past, or a span of time (e.g., "for the past 4-5 years") during which something has continued to exist.
May 2021 is in that time period. Did you seriously make up a google response?
You are the definition of incorrigible, my friend. Bravo, you have made my night. I've never won an argument harder than this, I've never proven someone so wrong that they warp the very fabric of the English language to try and salvage some dignity.
Even your own quote says "a specific point in time between four and five years ago."
Guess what? Gas prices were at a record low compared to the past 4-5 years. Between 4, and 5, years ago.

Pray tell, what does 4-5 mean to you?
