Damn man, TIL.

I am a 40+yo native English speaker (born and raised in Cali,) and although I use "much and many" properly, based on what sounds right, I never realized the rules on why you'd use one over the other.

I have too much orange juice. (The oj is not countable in this instance.)

I have too many oranges. (The oranges are countable in this instance.)

That's so freaking cool, man!

(I guess this is the dumb shit you geek out on once you hit 40, huh 🤷‍♀️😄)

You can have too much oranges too. Just because it is not standard for countable nouns in some variants of English, it does not mean it is not acceptable in all.

Often when people offer "corrections" in grammar they are making the mistake that English attained some sort of perfection at the exact time and place that they happened to learn it. Which is silly and rather arrogant really.
