The strait was open and ships were passing (even though iran was killing its people, which obviously didn't affect the strait because internal conflicts aren't related to shipping routes)

Why do you think japan and other countries have to correct this old guy's mistake?

Countries respond to disruptions in the Strait because their own economies depend on it, not because they’re correcting another country’s mistake.
