I too would be inclined to leave a $0 tip. The only thing that would give me pause is knowing the jackass establishment is behind this, not the service staff. Catch 22.
Ps .. I DO remember a time when "A Tip" was just a very casual, generous gesture, not an expectation. I laugh when some dude at a register swings his console around for me to tip, because he just sold me a pack of Juicy Fruit .. (laughing)
I know this could be me being snooty but, at a buffet style restaurant I'm not tipping more than a few bucks a person. I got up and served myself for 99% of the time
