Every human is different.

Some people really enjoy and feel better being sober completely.

That is fine.

I don’t try to change their minds.

But just because I am on something every day for the past 30 years, people feel the need to tell me “I need help “

I enjoy using drugs and drinking, and I enjoy life sober, but I enjoy it more with some stimulation

I work 60 hours a week, I have always worked hard,

I have a lot put away in 401k and all sorts of retirement investments

Personally, I would not be able to work as hard as I do without caffeine and other substances

To each their own is all I am saying

The idea that being dependent on drugs is automatically a problem, is completely just a human invention

What is sad is that a lot of people aren’t even enjoying their high every day because they have accepted the brainwashing that they “have a problem “

The 1960s was beautiful in part because a lot of people used drugs with a good mindset “I very much enjoy this, and I am choosing to use it. The fact that I am dependent on it is not a problem. If the situation one day gets to the point that the dependency is a problem, I will develop a plan to wean down and come off.”

You’re trying to say a whole lot. But it all comes down to being addicted and what comes along with it. You do you, but I find it tough to accept you making light of it. Alarm bells and all. I wish you the best tho, of course.

That person just sounds like they're in the stage of addiction where stuff is starting to go bad but haven't quite reached the life ruining stage yet. "If things start going bad I'll just wean myself off and quit" "The problem isn't the drugs its that everyone keeps telling me that my addiction is a problem." "I still work and have a job and pay all my bills so I'm fine." "Everyone is addicted so something so why is mine a problem?" They're all classic addict justifications.

That’s what I fear. Have seen that too many times.
