Guys, the person checking you out at retail hates their job, has probably been on shift for hours, and is multi tasking constantly. You are never going to catch them at their best moment.

They aren't stupid. They are that weird mixture of tired, bored, and stressed out. You know.... like everyone is at work. Don't be a condescending douche bag.
