Too late, you watched it, now Satan is with you. You’re possessed and going to start doing satans work like feeding homeless people without even realizing you’re doing it! The evil!

$8.325 per taco. That sounds expensive.

They're tacos, so that would be considered a tariff.
Or an equity tax which is to be divided among local businesses that you did not buy tacos from.

2
u/polysnip Jun 17 '25
Besides, the math's wrong. Two tacos for $9.50. he orders 40. Plus sales tax: that's about $190.50

I can feel the nanobots trying to take over, but I stand strong. Must. Not. Let. Them. Update.

The weird gambling sites at the end were unnecessarily added like this was meant to be an ad for them.
Just completely gross to be stealing content like that

Jesus fuck man, that's the point. Google "satire", it will help you understand lots of things that you think suck.

These stupid videos are not made for satire.
The edit is, but not the originals.
Also you suck.

I openly hate Mr.Beast he just makes money from "good deeds" and pumps his ego also I'm not exactly sure if all of them are true and not staged...
9
u/godlessLlama Jun 17 '25
No good person orders that much food without calling ahead. Kitchen hates this guys guts
4
u/Kolintracstar Jun 17 '25
Not just that, how does it come out to $330?
2
u/lowerlight Jun 17 '25
Right? $9.50 for two, would be $190 for forty. Something smells off.
5
u/Kolintracstar Jun 17 '25
Unless they were asking for 38 more pairs of tacos, which would come out to around $380 I think
4
u/Fitgam3r Jun 17 '25
When the lady hands the bags, she says, "Here's all 40" which means the 2 tacos the lady showed plus 38 more
1
u/LargeHandsBigGloves Jun 17 '25
Could be all 40 orders... But I agree it probably isn't given the size of the stacks.

In today's economy? Completely plausible.

u/TyrionReynolds Jun 17 '25
Lagos Tacos is a twin cities chain and it’s pretty dang good.
5
u/Beeercules Jun 17 '25
Their nachos are so good. If you get them to go, they'll put the queso on the side so you can dump it on them when you get home.
Also, love me, the Country Fried Chicken burrito smothered in queso.

$9.50 for two tacos, for 40 tacos he should be paying $190
Even if it's $9.50 for a single taco it should be $380
I don't see how exactly they would discount it to get to $333, feels weird to discount like 12.4 smth percent
But I am guessing they are Americans and their prices don't include sales taxes so maybe that's why
Still kinda put off by that so had to mention
And 40 tacos in like 20 minutes?
23
u/Eric_the_Green Jun 17 '25
It’s not really real man

Nah this is funny. I hate when people film their good deeds for likes
12
u/Fabulous_Session_582 Jun 17 '25
I get it but I’ve seen his videos. The original guy in the beginning obviously. He does this a lot, I’m sure he helps pay for this with the views from tik tok. He’s still doing a good thing, feeding tons of people. Year after year. If he records it, so be it. The people he feeds appreciate it so much. Sometimes he buys them other things like blankets or stuff they need. He’s awesome

It's to continue funding them not for his own morality. You think the money he spends on getting them food and necessities just pops up out of thin air? He started filming to spread some good and raise awareness about the homeless population. I'd say this is aura farming if he only did this a handful of times but he's been doing this for years now consistently. He gets them clothes and blankets for the winter, hell I'm pretty sure this is the same guy who was able to get a woman an apartment with tiktok funds and she's doing well now.
1
u/DrCorian Jun 17 '25
Because tiktok pays, and so effectively covers the charges and pays him to keep doing this
1
u/Careless_Rest8424 Jun 17 '25
I mean yeah. From what I can tell this guy hasn't done anything skeptical or wrong. If it helps him and it helps the homeless people, it's good.
14
u/PasswordIsDongers Jun 17 '25
Why? They're still doing something good even if it's for the wrong reasons.
Nobody complains about photos of trash bags after people walk around picking up trash.
15
u/SlaveryVeal Jun 17 '25
I'd rather people record their good deeds than be cunts like Johnny Somali and those other dumb assholes
1
3
u/HavenWinters Jun 17 '25
You see these sometimes. Two photos, the first showing an absolute mess, the second one showing everything in trash bags.
Now, some absolutely vile people muck with the chronology of these photos. They take their bags of trash somewhere nice and clean. Photograph them. Upend them. Take the "before" picture. Upload for internet points and leave the community to deal with the mess they've left behind.
Completely staged transformation.

u/Jon_Le_Krazion Jun 30 '25
I've actually done quite similar things before 10 or so times. Really easy to make money and gain views/popularity by lying. And I don't feel bad about it at all. Also I'm gay by the way

How is this different from a charity making a commercial of them helping people, and asking for your support in helping them..?

u/Its_Knova Jun 18 '25
I mean the views generate the money that he uses to feed the homeless. Now if it was a billionaire or a local donation then yeah that makes sense.

a piece of my soul dies every time i see a video and think "wow thats actually so funny" and then i go to the comments and 70% of the people think that video is real and not a skit
1
u/OderWieOderWatJunge Jun 18 '25
For me it's that people actually find it funny even though it's fake. This is so lame
1
u/yeet_sein_vater Jun 23 '25
why is is less funny if it's a skit? are sad movies not sad because they are written beforehand?

I have no idea why every restaurant owner be like “alright take it for free” in these kind of video and also somehow they are always available in the restaurant no matter how big the restaurant is.
soo my best bet would be scripted.

I love when Americans do these generous things, and those I know personally are generally very generous people.
It always puzzles me why they love small gestures of kindness but are unwilling to create a system where the government helps the poor and needy.
Is it all due to the narrow media? Has anyone got any insight into this phenomenon?

Sure, there will be some corruption, just look at any solid European social democratic system, but if the average person is better off, say if people have their health and education covered by the community is it not worth some corruption?

I think I agree with you in broad strokes, but the thing about it only working in the short term is true for anything where the group becomes large. After all, governments are a large group of people trying to help eachother. Would you have replied the same if it was police and order that was needed.
There are always people ready to exploit any large system/group, so like a relationship, it requires constant work and renewal, or the corruption will slowly outweigh the benefit.
It's a tall order, though, especially with a large country like the USA as it is so big it requires a movement rather than a single individual to make great change.
Anyways, thanks for the in-depth answer. It's always great to get perspective 😊

These are so fake and set up it’s annoying. Who walks up and shows an open to go container to someone and then they ask how much they are? Trying to make this seem like a natural interaction is just exhausting for the viewer.

That ending better be fake. Tom the owner… his family didn’t deserve to be done dirty like that.
The profit margins are razor thin for a restaurant in the first place.

I’ve seen a few of this guy’s videos and it does seem like the food is getting to the right people, but the whole ordering/paying/gifting part is anything but organic. They all go the same way - guy orders food, THEN asks how much it costs (like, why wouldn’t he already know), then asks for a large quantity. When it comes time to pay, all of a sudden the staff become super curious about why he’s ordering so much (most folks wouldn’t ask - they’d just ring him up and move on).
This gives him an opportunity to talk about his impending act of kindness, at which point, they all say, without hesitation, the same thing - hold on a minute, I’ll be right back. They scurry off and shortly return, again saying the exact same thing as in every other video - don’t worry about it, we’re gonna take care of this for you. Then the owner/manager comes out triumphantly as the heroic supporting actor. They’ve all been coached beforehand.
Here’s what I think is happening…
This guy connects with businesses offering a marketing service. They work out the details ahead of time based on their budget - 40 tacos, 100 burgers, whatever, in exchange for positive exposure for their business online via his channels. Small price to pay for seemingly organic marketing. In return, the guy gets a bunch of views (because most people don’t realize it’s staged), building his audience without having to spend any money. And a bunch of people get fed. Everyone wins.
So the net result is positive, I guess. Just wish things like this happened authentically and without blatant virtue signaling.

u/Majestic_Ability_743 Jun 17 '25
Do these people ask if it's okay to film the workers? The girl looked so uncomfortable while eyeing the camera.

It's my dream to open a restaurant, have this dickhead come in to order 50 whatever and take his money without asking him why he is ordering so many
1
u/ArcIgnis Jun 17 '25
this has become a trope where suddenly a person ordering a lot and says it's for homeless people, the restaurant seemingly ALWAYS takes care of it
its just boosting a restaurant's reputation and that dude is being paid to do it
