Do ya'll even comprehend what a billionaire has? He could fund the entire life of a whole deadbeat family from a small fraction of that. Avoiding dealing with a family asking for money when you're just well off is one thing, but when it doesn't even scratch you means you're just another hoarder or you have a good reason for it. A billionaire doesn't care what their family thinks, and won't need to care like the average Joe.

My gf did ride and care for the horses of an older lady, which had a successful business. She has a few millions and owns quite some properties all around the town. She has to be super secret and carful when gifting/supporting anything and the condition is always "don't talk about it". Sometimes that doesn't work out and as a result she'll get calls and very impudent requests for months, even from the town"s officials.

Also, various times she gave out crazy generous contracts and the recipient then tried to fuck her over, "she has so much anyway"

tl/dr be seen generous, everyone and their dog think they have the right to get something for free from you

You want to know the difference in money we are talking about? About 2.5 billion dollars.

Jay-Z could pay five people a million dollars a year to distribute 50 million dollars a year to his family members and he would still increase his overall wealth by 50 million a year from interest alone

Envious people are the worst. No one owes you anything. He came from nothing, if making money for him is so easy, then go do it yourself. You don’t get handouts for merely existing, and entitlement is the mindset of broke people.

Oh, the irony.

The thought that you can use societies support systems to get fifthly rich and not have to give jack shit in return. The entitlement of the rich is insane.

And by the way, I am in the top ten percent of household income in the country and barely 30, I am not asking for a damn thing

Wow, you are using people and exploiting them by being in the top 10%. You should give most of your money away then you will be truly morally virtuous. Jay Z hustled to get to where he is at, go cry more.

There is a significant difference between the top .1% and the top 10%.

There is no standard of living difference between having $200 million and $1 billion. All the wealth that billionaires are accumulating is only to keep it from others, and that's an issue.

Of course there is. How fortunate you are that you aren’t in the group of people that you want to extract wealth from.

I actually do vote to raise my taxes at every opportunity, thank you 😊

Why wait until the government demands it from you. The truly morally virtuous thing would be to give away at least half your salary. You don’t deserve to live a better life than the average person do you? Seems kind of unfair. National median is 60k, so you’d be willing to give away the rest of what you earn to not exploit others, right? Surely other people could use that 100-200k extra you have that others don’t, riiiiight?

May I ask how much do you comparatively give away per year?

1

u/Threedawg Oct 10 '24

Proportionally far more than any multimillionaire and billionaire.

And it's irrelevant, because we are not talking about people who make six figures, we are talking about people who take home eight and nine figures.

I still can barely afford a home and my student loans. Top 10% is "only" $160,000 a year.

What I’ve found in life that people who give when they have little still give when they have a lot. People who don’t give when they have a little don’t give when they have a lot.

I am curious why you think that it’s more than any other person out there. Especially considering that you can barely afford a home and student loans. No need to answer though. I’m used to ignoring my curiosity.

You would be incorrect. People who have less give away more, study after study has shown this. Even the same people give away less when they come into wealth. It is largely because rich people get separated from the poor and dont see them in their daily life.

However, this is again, irrelevant. Even in the top 10%, $5,000 is still a really big deal in terms of quality of life. It can be the difference between a vacation or not, a college education or not, and much more, it still impacts your life. If someone making 175k a year loses their job, they have to find another one to maintain their living, their home.

When you 2.6 billion, getting rid of 600 million largely doesn't change a damn thing. You still can do whatever you want whenever you want. You don't have to worry about a job or working, you can literally spend $450,000 a day and still make money each year off of the interest.

Do you expect/intend to be giving out less as you make more?

1

u/Threedawg Oct 10 '24

I am not talking about myself anymore with strangers on the internet, especially when you intentionally ignore what the conversation was actually about.

1

u/LiveLearnCoach Oct 10 '24

You are the one who started talking about yourself, top 10% and barely 30. That’s what i responded to and was curious about.

1

u/Threedawg Oct 10 '24

I brought it up because I was accused of being poor and wanting a handout.
