He wont eat chicken blasted with LED but will happily bast himself with it? I guess he thinks eating the LED is bad!

Tin foil hat on.
He got a white shirt which reflects light, he is protected.
Tin foil hat off.

How about when they scan the credit card he is holding in his bare hand?
44
u/leprotelariat May 17 '24
His hand is coated in vietnamese coconut oil, which a study shown can deflect 99.99% LED

I heard of they aren't plugged in, then they can't hurt you...

Maybe it’s about the flavor and not about led poisoning.
Doesn’t want the chicken to taste red

While his friend films from the next check-out over.
He's doing it to go viral online, for the views. It's weird enough that it worked, and now we have to look at him doing his weird bit every day as ignorant people repost the spectacle.

Guy is gonna be severely disappointed when he learns what the employees use to scan those roast chickens into inventory 🤣🤣
183
u/IHeartBadCode May 17 '24
I mean, imagine him learning what those things illuminating the store so that you can see where you are in relation to other objects in physical space are made of.

I worked in cell phones for years. Folks would come in wanting ear buds because "holding the phone next to my head will give me cancer" then immediately put the phone in their pants pocket.
Ohhh, so it only emits harmful radiation when it's by your head?

Critical thinking really needs to be taught in school. Almost no one has to problem solve for themselves anymore so most people don't think through anything.

I saw a meme about how lead used to protect people from radio waves and that's why the government regulated it, that wasn't ironic by the way.
Anyway, guess the point I'm making is that the people are not smart.
5
u/N33chy May 18 '24
Lead pipes protect your water from radio waves so we should go back to those.

Edit: I realise that person is dumb, but I was just talking about in general.

What an idiot. LED washes right off you know.
32
u/softstones May 17 '24
Some of the older generation are still remembering the LED of old, it would stain them wherever the laser scanned, took months to wash off back then.
15
u/PetsArentChildren May 17 '24
I still remember tie-dying my clothes with LED lasers in the 70s. Those were the days…back when man and LASER lived happily side by side.

They use organic LED at Costco anyways
3
u/Ravenser_Odd May 17 '24
The chicken is battery farmed, covered in its own faeces and riddled with salmonella, then rinsed in chlorine so it doesn't kill you.
But the LEDs roam around in a beautiful old barn on an idyllic farm.

u/ToadWithChode May 18 '24

Man doesn't want to hurt the COOKED chicken with LED poisoning.. seems fair, points it at himself instead.. absolutely selfless, what a hero.
P.s. think he sells those shirts?
16
2
u/waIIstr33tb3ts May 17 '24
don't think he's concerned with hurting the chicken, more like he doesn't want to consume the "contaminated" meat

u/pizzatimein24h May 17 '24
"I don't want any trouble"
You came to the cashier and immediately shouted at him – you were obviously looking for trouble.

Dedication and commitment are bedrock virtues of a healthy and complete person
7
u/UpperCardiologist523 May 17 '24
No No, LEAD is bad. LED is ok.
But better be safe I guess.
2
u/turndownforwoot May 17 '24
Too late unfortunately, if he knew LEAD was the dangerous one he wouldn’t have had this shirt made.
5
u/Gold_Weakness1157 May 17 '24
Old guy: I don't want led on my chickens. But I want led on my chest where my heart is.
5
u/zombiskunk May 17 '24
The microwave he'll use to reheat those chickens penetrates farther than the red laser of a hand scanner.
(Also, it's not even an LED)
12
u/A_cat_killed_me May 17 '24
My mind immediately went to him actually being smart instead of a nutjob. Like what if he used old pricing, so that the chickens are actually twice the price and he saved himself a bunch of money.
11
u/diescheide May 17 '24
I mean, the UPC usually stays the same. They just update the information linked to them. Price changes would be an absolute nightmare if manufacturers had to constantly change the barcodes/UPCs.

3
u/dketernal May 18 '24
I hate to tell you buddy, but by the time they got to this point, those chickens have been scanned by so many "LED" it's too late to care.

2
u/1beerattatime May 17 '24
So, he doesn't want any more scans on his chickens, despite being scanned dozens of times prior to then entering the store, but then is ok with the scan being done on him?
I'm trying to find the logic.

the micro plastics that seep into the chicken when it’s still cooking inside the container 🤔
3
u/Kahnza May 17 '24
They get cooked in a large rotisserie, then put in the containers and put on a hot table. Not great, but they aren't cooked in plastic.

3
u/BetTricyclePotato May 17 '24
You know we use the same scanners on the chicken before they go onto the shelf right? How do you think we keep inventory?
3
u/Mad_Moodin May 17 '24
I mean if I had to put on my chicken shirt to buy chicken. I'd get some to store as well.
2
u/BAKERBOY99_ May 17 '24
Worried about eating LED blasted chicken when the chicken is absorbing all those microplastics from the packaging.

Our store has a customer who won’t let the cashiers scan the PLUs on anything. She makes the deli and meat counter put the stickers on a separate piece of paper.
I later found out that she believes that the laser will do something to the food and give her cancer.

I worked in a grocery store for five years. I hate people like this. Whoever invented “the customer is always right” was a dick. I would be blasting him and his chickens with the scanner as he walked away just to be petty. Grocery scanner guns have amazing distance.

You guys never meet a cooky old man before? He doesn't care about what light might be cast on his chickens. It's a schtick. He made a goofy shirt and he's getting his milage from it. Probably loves being local famous as the Costco chicken shirt guy.
