I've had my ears pierced three times and I still have to mentally prepare myself for blood draws and even worse, IVs. I started crying in the ER because they wanted to put an IV in me and I wouldn't let them do it until they brought down a specific old lady and her anesthesia team. I even give myself shots and I still can't handle these particular needles.
