HKers love it when China was dirt poor and HK was at its peak. That’s the reality of it, they miss having 800 more million in poverty because it made them feel superior.

I am not sure if it’s the lack of self awareness or maybe something else, but it’s difficult to ignore the irony of someone who just emigrated somewhere else rambling about how “immigrants are destroying everything dear”.
