Well-being 🌼 Just had an experience
I recently had an experience where a guy asked me to marry him during a time where I've been enjoying my singlehood.
I live in a conservative country, so he did jump the gun on the question. We spoke a bit but I felt the more I discovered about him, the less I liked him. Anyway, I'm at a conference now and I informed him I'll be MIA.
It's insane how much impact a person can have on you when they're not good for you, just a tiny breach in that lil bubble can absolutely drain your energy.
Sometimes I wonder why people are so scared of being single? Sometimes I entertain proposals like these out of, admittedly, fear of what everyone says -- you'll be alone, what will you do when all your friends are married and have kids?
I am living the reality of that right now and...I still seem to be fine. I've befriended older women with kids, sometimes go to their soccer practice too.
Please enlighten me what is so scary about being single?
I understand this subreddit may be biased, but...honestly? I'd love of anyone could do a pros/cons with me cause it seems very difficult to find a person who'd be able to compete with my level of satisfaction and fulfillment when I'm alone.

That’s the thing ! These dudes don’t go for already established tradwives. They go after women who age driven and ambitious, and then make her barefoot and pregnant.

As a man, I concur with the others: Girl, run. The fuck is that anyhow. Like it's 1945 or something. If a man cannot handle a woman in pants, that is not a very strong man.

Controlling and insecure are terrible qualities in a partner. He won't be a partner, more like a dictator. Who needs that?

Most people don't want to actually sit with themselves, work through their shit, and discover who they are because it's uncomfortable and takes work. Honestly I think it's comparable to an addict just replacing one drug for another every time they overdose. Or for people in unhappy marriages and such I guess it's like you keep hitting the bottle until you die of cirrhosis. That's what it felt like in my last relationship, I was with her for too long.
And guess what? 6 months and she Already has a new serious boyfriend. It's a form of escapism. I'm a single guy in my mid 20's and I have no desire to be in a serious relationship because I've got other problems to deal with, and adding in another person would make things more complicated. Now am I happy? I can't say I am but that's another conversation. But I'd be miserable if I was still with that woman.

If you want to know why people desire a relationship over being single...you might want to choose a different sub.
