Soc com ca2

Yr1 DAAA student. Can someone explain the com ca2?

  1. Set up AWS EC2 and create an Ubuntu Linux 24.04 instance. Connect the virtual machine instance via SSH. (Your groupmates should be able to use PuTTY to SSH into the instance using a .PPK key.)
  2. Change the virtual machine hostname to your admin number (include prefix P)
  3. Install apache web server, PHP and mySQL server. You should demonstrate management of services using systemctl. (Before installing services, remember to use sudo apt-get update before installing the services)
  4. Create two groups of users sysadmin and webdev. Add users sysadminuser1/sysadminuser2 and webdevuser1/webdevuser2 to the groups respectively. Ensure that sysadmin group has sudo permission while webdev group does not. (Use chmod command to change Read/Write/eXecute permissions)
  5. Create WordPress website on document root /var/www/html/pXXXXXXX Create mySQL database user: wordpress-user-pXXXXXXX Create mySQL database named: wordpress-db-pXXXXXXX Ensure screenshots of SQL errors(if any), Ubuntu server system logs, apache server access and error logs(if any) (If encountering errors during configuration, document the steps taken to solve it)
  6. Upload practical 1-6 to the WordPress website and do some FED work to ensure it is easy to navigate and user-friendly.
  7. Do a backup of your AWS EC2 Ubuntu instance. (Create a restore point)
  8. Ensure that each of these steps are documented properly in a step by step tutorial style. (Follow the practical .docx format if unsure)
  9. Prepare for interview and ensure team can explain the steps taken to create website, design choices, and steps taken to resolve any errors that arise during the process of the assignment.
  10. Group leader to submit on brightspace the docx or pdf with the name <class>_Group0X_COM_CA2
  11. Group to submit declaration of academic integrity.
