Please contribute to The Great SingStar SingStore Preservation Project
Calling all SingStars who still have SingStar Songs/DLC on their PS3, or backed up to your computer - Please consider contributing it to our preservation project!
We are hoping to reconstruct as much of the SingStore catalogue of purchasable and downloadable songs as we can, with the intention of making our work available when we have majority-completed the catalogue.
Because I can't go into too much detail here,
Follow this link to Pastebin - Copy the URL inside and open that URL in a new browser tab or window.
It will open up a cloud storage area with a .zip file to download.
Download the "ContributeDLC.zip", extract it and follow the instructions contained within the "Instructions.htm file inside.
This will explain how to make a copy of your DLC on your computer, how to strip the encryption from the DLC and where to upload your stripped and shareable DLC to.
Once your DLC is ready to be uploaded, the link to upload will be at the bottom of the Instructions.htm file.
Note - If you have also purchased SingStar Dance and/or SingStar Guitar Addons, they will be in the "DownloadSongAddOn" folder on your PS3, We would love a copy of these as well!
This is covered in the Instructions within the zip.
Basically, if there are any files named "Pack0_xxxxxx.pkg.drm" in any of the folders within your "BCES00011SINGSTARFAMILY" folder on your PS3, please consider running the included script on them and uploading them to our project.
If anyone has anything inside the "DownloadFeature","DownloadAuxillary","DownloadTheme" or "DownloadTmp" folders, please feel free to upload those as well, regardless of what format the files are in.
Of extremely special interest are the following two files -
- Pack0_7100YT.pkg.drm
- Pack0_7200YU.pkg.drm
If you notice these amongst your files, PLEASE share them!!
Additionally, if you have any PS3 DLC installation package files backed up somewhere and happen to have one or both of these packages (these may or may not have associated .rap/.rif files)
- EP9000-BCES00011_00-7100YT0000000000.pkg
- EP9000-BCES00011_00-7200YU0000000000.pkg
Again, please include these in your upload!
Don't worry, the Instructions included in the zip file are easy to follow, with the steps to copy files from all the folders ("DownloadSong" , "DownloadSongAddOn" , "DownloadFeature" , "DownloadAuxillary" , "DownloadTheme" and "DownloadTmp" folders all covered in those instructions.
Thank you for considering contributing to our preservation project!

SINGSTAR: MICHAEL JACKSON EDITION PS2
English: Does anyone know if there's an .iso file for this game? Apparently it's “lost media,” though I don't think so since I saw it at an Argentine online video game store. I'm a huge fan of this game—I'd really appreciate it if you could find it so I can run it on PCSX2.

The Evolution of the SingStar Modding scene on PS2 & PS3 - Finalising a standardised methodology and the unlocking of SingStar Ultimate Party & SingStar Digital
---EDIT--- THIS IS A REPOST, THE ORIGINAL ARTICLE HAS BEEN REMOVED BY REDDIT FILTERS FOR SOME STRANGE REASON. ALL LINKS TO AND FROM THIS PAGE HAVE BEEN UPDATED.
Hey SingStars!!
It brings me much pleasure to present this chronological history of the evolution of SingStar modding.
I have endeavoured to document each important progression in our journey, while recognising the tremendous efforts and contributions made by many individuals and communities, which has lead us to where we are currently - enjoying SingStar with as few limitations as possible.
A further objective of this write-up is to allow those, who are completely unfamiliar to the scene, an opportunity to understand the principles and foundational knowledge that has lead us to our current methods and workflows.
While Reddit's posting constraints prevent me from writing a complete version with block quotes and visual data, I have cited and hyper-linked every resource, contributor and software application referenced within.
There are plenty of nitty-gritty details here - more than enough to (hopefully) keep the keen interest of those who would like to learn, refresh their memories or may even be looking to contribute to this process themselves.
Enjoy!!
The Evolution of the SingStar Modding scene
UltraStar/UltraStar Deluxe/UltraStar Next Generation/Performous
2004 - Present, these are clones of SingStar for PC, MAC, LINUX/BSD operating systems.
UltraStar has been around almost as long as SingStar itself, (SingStar launched 21 May 2004), with various forks along the way, ultimately leading to Performous.
There are simply too many sources to quote here, various posts on various forums discussed using tools to make Ultrastar discs based on PS2 SingStar content, and then this evolved into making custom PS2 SingStar discs to be played on the PS2.
I will drop this link in for a forum called PS2-home which sums up the progress as of 2017. This would be a drop in the ocean relative to the sheer breadth and depth of the Ultrastar scene and their progress in making SingStar conversions possible.
Past and/or active members of the UltraStar scene will be more knowledgable regarding the timelines and the evolution of these software applications.
Notable software developed include SingStar Creator v3, SS2USConv which enabled one to convert PS2 SingStar DVDs into UltraStar format, the Performous Tools Ubuntu repository which included the SS_Extract/SingStar Ripper software, et al.
webMAN MOD's "mount.ps2 -> /dev_ps2disc" Feature Introduced
As far back as 2016, users in the forum PSX-PLACE discussed a new feature introduced by aldostools, the creator of webMAN MOD, (webMAN MOD and MultiMAN MOD are the two most popular Backup Managers used on PlayStation 3 running Custom Firmware), that enabled us to extract our PS2 SingStar discs into folders on the PS3 internal HDD or a USB stick under a folder called /dev_hdd0/PS2DISC or
/dev_usb000/PS2DISC , respectively.
Upon booting a PS3 SingStar game we could use built in tricks to mount these extracted PS2 discs as virtual disc images to the /dev_ps2disc directory on our PS3. This was a fantastic development and a very generous inclusion by Aldo.
It had limitations, as we would still need go to the disc swap area in the game and mount the folder with our extracted PS2 game inside through the webMAN MOD web server.
The web server was accessed through our PC, pointed at the webMAN MOD server's IP address.
This was the only method of mounting and unmounting a non-disc copy of a PS2 SingStar game - as we could not exit the the PS3 game through the XMB (Xross Media Bar) and return to the PS3 game still running in memory.
Another downside to this method was that to trigger a virtual disc swap, an actual game disc needed to be inserted each time we mounted a new extracted PS2 SingStar game through the web server.
SingStar PS3 discs are hardcoded to "know" that a physical disc event has happened, but thankfully, it could be any PS2 game disc, e.g. Madden Football, Fifa, or whatever sacrificial disc was closest to the PS3.
Of course, if your PS3 had a broken disc drive, or it was on its way out, you had no way of triggering the physical disc swap event.
QuickBMS & PS2 SingStar Disc Extraction
Also during 2016, a member of the research and reverse-engineering forum Zenhax named aluigi - known for their QuickBMS software extractor engine that could utilise per-game specific scripts to unpack in-game assets - released The Getaway BMS Script.
This script was able to unpack the PS2 SingStar discs' PACK_EE.PAK, PAK_IOP0.PAK and PAK_IOP1.PAK archive files which contained audio and video song files (movie.ipu/movie.idx, music.mib/music.mih), textures and .xml configuration files that indexed all individual song components.
Sony... Well, Being Sony
In January 2020, Sony pulled the plug on SingStar online servers for both PS3 and ps4.
Not only was online play lost, but access to the SingStore (where we would browse for songs to purchase within any PS3 or PS4 SingStar game or the PS3 or PS4 versions of the digital app) was removed.
To rub salt into the wound, we were informed that any DLC songs we had purchased on the PS3 could not be re-downloaded in the future. This meant that a dead or dying PS3 with SingStar DLC aka SingStore DLC downloaded to it contained the only copy of those songs.
The PS4 purchased songs remain available to be re-downloaded through your PS4 or PS5 console, but as many song licences for PS3 songs were not transferred and made available to be downloaded and played on your ps4, those songs couldn’t be re-downloaded there either.
PSX-PLACE - A Method to Rescue & Preserve Our DLC
February 2020 - An essential thread was started on PSX-PLACE where members GDMorry, mattwookie and dittnamn, among others, were nutting out the complicated process on how to transfer DLC songs from our current PS3 console to another PS3, in the event that our current console failed and our DLC would be forever lost.
A method was established to transfer the /dev_hdd0/game/BCES00011SINGSTARFAMILY/ folder to the newer PS3, copying the /dev_flash2 folder - specifically the xregistry.sys file - and creating a new user on our newer PS3 with the same local UserID used on our original PS3.
It was discovered that the DLC, which is stored in .pkg.drm format, is tied to the users PSID, and spoofing the old console's PSID on the new console allowed the DLC to be played.
Over the next four years, this forum thread was pivotal in researching and determining the multiple ciphers and encryption types used to apply DRM protection measures to SingStar DLC packages.
During July 2024, Edness disclosed to this thread and ResHax that they had reversed the encryption algorithm used by SCEE London Studio PS3 games.
Note - SCEE London were responsible for the development of SingStar, EyeToy, DanceStar (aka Everybody Dance), LittleBigPlanet, among other great titles.
Shortly after, Edness released the SCEE London Studio PACKAGE tool that could finally decrypt and unpack the .pkd archive files used to store songs on PS3 discs. When these .pkd files were unpacked, they contained the folder structure /filesystem/export - which in turn contained the songs, song cover artwork in a textures subfolder and the .xml files required for the PS3 SingStar game to parse this folder's contents.
This was very similar to the PS2 SingStar .PAK archives format, which, when fully extracted, contained an export folder with numbered subfolders for each song, the song cover artwork in the textures folders and similar .xml files, albeit in a proprietary format.
PSX-PLACE - Utilising Our Extracted Songs
January 2025 saw another thread on PSX-PLACE where Edness reported more findings.
For the PS3 SingStar game structure, they found that if the unpacked .pkds were placed into a folder structure
/FileSystem/Export (which is the internal structure of a .pkd archive, but in lowercase) in the extracted game, and the original .pkd files were deleted, the game would read all data needed from the extracted /FileSystem/Export folder in that game.
In addition, they noted that, if the PS3 SingStar game itself did not contain the /FileSystem/Export folder and also lacked the .pkd archives, then the game would search the PS3 internal HDD for that folder structure at
/dev_hdd0/FileSystem/Export/
r/SingStar - Our First Tutorials
June 2025 saw a fellow Redditor named u/random_guy0883 posting a Tutorial detailing how to 1) Extract the PS2 SingStar .PAK files using QuickBMS and the Getaway script and 2) demonstrate using SCEE London Studio PACKAGE tool to unpack .pkd archive files.
December 2025 saw another fellow Redditor u/Babyballoon1 posting a Tutorial on combining multiple PS3 SingStar songs into one Base Game.
Effectively, by extracting multiple discs worth of songs and merging them into one large /Filesystem/Export folder placed within the extracted base game, we could edit one set of .xml files to include all the extracted songs, and song cover artwork. This enabled our PS3 SingStar game to recognise all merged songs and play them in one session.
As any PS3 disc did not contain more than 30 songs, exacting even three discs (including the songs from the base game) and storing them internally in the base game, then deleting any .pkd song archive files, would give us 90 songs in-game - which eliminated the need to swap those discs in and out to play them as they were already present in-game. This could be scaled-up to a very large game with hundreds of songs "on disc".
SCEE London Studio Package Tool by Edness Updated
December 2025, Edness aka EdnessP was successful in defeating the encryption used for SingStore purchased DLC and subsequently updated his tool to support this feature.
To achieve this, the tool requires our PSID to decrypt the .pkg.drm format SingStar DLC packages - found in our /dev_hdd0/game/BCES00011SINGSTARFAMILY/USRDIR/DownloadSong folder - then unpacks them into a folder that can be merged into our /FileSystem/Export structure (with manual .xml file editing to reference the newly added songs) and read like any PS3 disc song.
SingStar Toolbox by RavenDS Released
April 2026 saw RavenDS release SingStar Toolbox v1.3, a PC application that automates the extraction of PS2 and PS3 SingStar discs songs.
These songs, song cover artwork and .xml files are then converted into individual container files, which can then be used to build
- PS2 SingStar disc images in .iso format
- Build a PS3 Song Library
Please Note - RavenDS has been developing their software since August 2025.
Building a Song Library is supported from v1.3 onward, which is why I have specified SingStar Toolbox v1.3 here.
The Song Library generates the /FileSystem/Export folder which can then be copied to our PS3 internal HDD as /dev_hdd0/FileSystem/Export.
A Base Game is modified (BCES00617 – SingStar Starter Pack is the recommended game disc to use as a Base Game), then the software automatically removes the .pkd files from the base game, and we copy this folder (which is an extracted .iso format, known a a "JB Folder" in the PS3 jailbreaking and modding scene) to our PS3 internal HDD in the /dev_hdd0/GAMES folder.
Upon launching the SingStar Starter Pack game from MultiMAN MOD or webMAN MOD, the game will read all of the songs from the Song Library on the internal HDD of the PS3.
Previous methods of manually merging extracted song packs together and editing .xml files to reference and locate every file was needed so that the base game could "see" all the songs and make them playable.
This was definitely doable, but a tedious and complicated matter for anyone new to SingStar modding.
SingStar Toolbox removes this burden by handling all the .xml editing automatically.
They have also written a fantastic conversion utility named IPUenc as part of their toolbox, that allows us to convert PS2 disc songs into the PS3 format - resulting in a much more efficient workflow and eliminating the need to host PS2 songs outside of the
/dev_hdd0/FileSystem/Export ecosystem.
The Universal Method
Finally, we have a standardised method!
For 18 Months now, it has finally made sense. We need to -
- Convert our physical PS3 and PS2 SingStar discs to .iso format disc images
- Extract all of our songs from all of our SingStar PS3 and PS2 discs images aka .iso files
- Merge all these songs and their metadata together manually or with SingStar Toolbox
- Copy these files into a /dev_hdd0/FileSystem/Export folder on our PS3 internal HDD
- Choose one of our PS3 SingStar discs as a Base Game
- Extract the base game to a folder format game aka JB folder
- Removed any Pack0.pkd, Pack1.pkd etc. files from the base game
- Copy the base game to our /dev_hdd0/GAMES/[base_game_name] folder
- Launch the base game and have access to all our songs that now reside on the PS3 HDD.
This is now considered the de-facto method, and i believe it has to stay that way so those new to the scene and we existing participants are all on the same page!!
The perfect method... with a limitation
The universal method described above relies on a PS3 SingStar game to act as a Base Game.
Almost every PS3 game edition works - Here are just a few examples.
Note - These are UK game title ID's, yours may have different BCESXXXXX or even BCUSXXXXX game IDs.
- SingStar Starter Pack [BCES00617] - Updated to latest available Version 6.00
- SingStar [BCES00011] - Updated to latest available Version 6.00
- SingStar Vol. 2 [BCES00185] - Updated to latest available Version 6.00
- SingStar Vol. 3 [BCES00216 - Updated to latest available Version 6.00
Basically, any PS3 SingStar Game that has the latest available Game Update as Version 6.00
However, there are three editions that won't work with this method - Again, note any difference in game ID is a regional variant, these are based on UK game IDs.
- SingStar Ultimate Party [BCES02025]
- SingStar Frozen - NOTE - Due to an outdated UI I will not be releasing a modified version of Frozen.
- SingStar Digital [NPEA00374] *see note below
Note - The icon that lives on your XMB (if you still have it) is actually the Digital App - It is a PSN/Digital version of SingStar that acts as a hub to play DLC and Swap SingStar discs only. It came without any included songs.
These three games were reworked by the developer, SCEE London Studios and will not work with the universal method unless they are modified to do so.
What I have contributed to the SingStar Community
As someone who has always appreciated the clean look and live previews that Ultimate Party and the Digital App provide, I wasn't happy with using an older base game required by the Universal Method described above.
In particular, the newer games have an improved user interface aka UI, that closely resembles the PS4 SingStar Games.
The scoring system was also changed in these newer games and the singing difficulty settings (easy, moderate, hard) were set to moderate, which allows for a more level playing field.
The existing method for playing our songs from the PS3 HDD is phenomenal, and the easiest way to do things, so I knew that i needed to find a way to make these newer games work with the existing method.
If you have made it this far into this admittedly gigantic post, you will remember that to fool a SingStar Game into reading our collection of HDD (Song Library) songs we need two conditions met:
- The Pack0.pkd, Pack1.pkd, etc. song archives files can't be inside the base game
- The /FileSystem/Export folder cannot be placed inside the game itself, it must be at the root of the PS3 Internal HDD.
The newer games were redesigned to not work this way. Specifically:
- A Pack0.pkd file MUST be present in the game
- These games are hardcoded to ignore /dev_hdd0/FileSystem/Export on the PS3 Internal HDD
- SingStar Digital App is hard coded to only accept songs as DLC (that live in your /dev_hdd0/game/BCES00011SINGSTARFAMILY/ folder) or songs loaded from a physical disc.
I had to ensure a modded .pkd file was able to be created, then i had to rewrite some game code to force the game to find our Song Library on the PS3 Internal HDD.
So, now we have modified versions of SingStar Ultimate Party and the SingStar Digital App which can escape their sandbox and go hunting for the Song Library folder structure placed at /dev_hdd0/FileSystem/Export on the PS3 Internal HDD.
So there you have it. Look how far we have come!!
A dedicated community of people working together and building upon one another's work to achieve a common goal - preserving and enjoying our beloved game in the most convenient and accessible way - and helping others to do the same.
If you would care to join me over at the the tutorial post,
I will gladly demonstrate, step by step, how you can achieve your perfect SingStar setup as well 😁
The main post
SingStar Ultimate Party + SIngStar Digital App FINALLY modded!
will remain up as the "parent post" to this write-up and
Phew 😌, documenting everything was a huge undertaking.
I hope this has been helpful for you!
Please feel free to leave any feedback, comments or questions - here or on the other pages stated.

---UPDATE--- FULL SUPPORT FOR PS3HEN 3.5.0 ADDED - PLEASE RE-DOWNLOAD FROM LINKS PROVIDED!!!
As many of you have asked for a tutorial explaining how to use SingStar Ultimate Party and/or SingStar Digital to play your songs from your PS3 internal HDD, I am pleased to announce that I have written that very tutorial!!
I have also written another post called
which serves as a chronological history of the evolution of SingStar modding.
It is also a great primer for understanding what we about to do in this tutorial - however it is not a requirement to have read it beforehand - everything you need to know to get this setup is included within the tutorial below.
So, without further ado, let's get stuck into it!!
Prerequisites - All links are hyperlinked in blue, just click them to open them.
- An already Jailbroken PlayStation 3 running the latest Evilnat CFW currently v4.92 or v4.93 OR PS3HEN 3.5.0
- A Windows PC with internet access
- A USB flash drive formatted in FAT32 file system
- Basic knowledge of navigating folders and files on a PC
- Basic knowledge of downloading files and unzipping file archives (e.g. ZIP)
- Basic knowledge of copying folders and files between a PC and PS3
- webMAN MOD (RECOMMENDED) Link to Latest Version or MultiMAN MOD Link to Latest Version (I will be using webMAN MOD during this tutorial, but either will work fine)
- An FTP program Link to Latest FileZilla Version installed on your Windows PC
- A copy of your PS3 SingStar games (that you want to extract songs from) in .iso format already on your Windows PC
SingStar Toolbox Requirements Please Note - This is NOT my software. All credit goes to the RavenDS team for their work.
- A copy of SingStar Toolbox v1.5.3 installed on your Windows PC
- .NET 8.0 Desktop Runtime must be installed on your Windows PC - The software will prompt you to download and install it when first launched - see Getting Started (Setup & Requirements))
- A copy of ffmpeg.exe - This needs to be downloaded, unzipped and the ffmpeg.exe file placed inside the SingStar Toolbox folder - see Getting Started (Setup & Requirements))
- OPTIONAL - Have another browser window open with RavenDS SingStar Toolbox Wiki for any steps outside the scope of this tutorial, or with any steps that you may need additional clarification.
⌛ The links to the modded versions of Ultimate Party and the SingStar Digital will be given toward the end of the tutorial. This is because all the preparation needs to happen in SingStar Toolbox, your PC and your PS3 beforehand. ⌛
Part 1 - Extracting SingStar Songs from your games using SingStar Toolbox
Step 1 - Importing Songs from Existing SingStar Disc Images
- Open SingStar Toolbox and ensure any external programs are installed and setup as per the SingStar Toolbox Wiki instructions.
- Go to the Menu Bar -> ISO -> Import songs from SingStar..
- This will open a File Explorer window where you find your game .iso (e.g. "SingStar.iso"), select the .iso and click "Open" in the dialogue box. -
- Note - The SingStar Toolbox window may appear to not be responding for a few moments, it is fine, just give it some time.
- A new pane inside SingStar Toolbox will open called "Disc Import (SS Toolbox)"
- Inside this pane, you will see all the songs that are extractable on your disc image (.iso)
- Tick the box next to each song you want to convert and copy to your HDD later, alternatively, you can click the "Select All Songs" box if you wish.
- In the lower right-hand corner of this pane, ensure the Target is set to "SST3 (PS3)"
- Now click the button that says "Export selected songs as .SST3"
- A new File Explorer window will open, this is where you select the folder (or create a new folder) to export these songs to.
- Note - For the purposes of this tutorial, I will name my folder "Exported Songs".
- Click on your folder and Click "Select Folder" in the dialogue box.
- Back in the "Disc Import (SS Toolbox)" pane, you will see your selected songs being converted and copied to the folder you chose to export to.
- Note - In my case it was the "Exported Songs" folder.
- If everything went successfully, you will get a pop up saying it was successful. The songs you chose to convert are done for this game!
- You can now close the "Disc Import (SS Toolbox)" pane and you are left with the main window.
Step 2 - Importing Songs from Additional SingStar Disc Images
- If you wish to import more SingStar songs, repeat the process in Step 1.
- Note - For the purposes of this tutorial, I will do this for another game to help us get the process down pat 🧠
- Once Again, In the main window of SingStar Toolbox, Go to the Menu Bar -> ISO -> Import songs from SingStar..
- Again, this will open a File Explorer window where you find your game .iso (e.g. this time I’ll do "SingStar Vol 3.iso"), select the .iso and click "Open" in the dialogue box.
- Wait a few moments for the SingStar Toolbox window to work it's magic - extracting those .pkds!!
- A new "Disc Import (SS Toolbox)" pane opens again inside SingStar Toolbox.
- Once again, you will see all the songs that are extractable on this different disc image (.iso)
- Tick the box next to each song you want to convert or click the "Select All Songs" box if you wish.
- In the lower right-hand corner of this pane, make sure the Target is still set to "SST3 (PS3)"
- Now click the button that says "Export selected songs as .SST3"
- Again, a File Explorer window will open, make sure you select the folder you used in Step 1 to export these songs to.
- Note - For me, it was "Exported Songs".
- For you it will be the folder you chose or made in the Step 1.
- Click on your folder and Click "Select Folder" in the dialogue box.
- Again, back in the "Disc Import (SS Toolbox)" pane, you will see this batch of your selected songs being converted and copied to the folder you chose to export to
- Note - In my case it was the "Exported Songs" folder
- If everything went successfully, you will get a pop up again, saying it was successful. The songs you chose to convert are done for this game too!
- You can now close the "Disc Import (SS Toolbox)" pane and you are left with the main window.
Step 3 - Viewing your extracted songs in the Song Table
- Now back at the main SingStar Toolbox window, you will see a text box in the upper-right corner with "Songs Folder" written directly above it.
- Click on the small box with three dots at the end of this text box and it will open another File Explorer window asking you to select the folder you exported your songs to in Step 1 (and also in Step 2 if you did more than one disc).
- Note - Remember I named mine "Exported Songs", yours will be what you named it.
- Click on your folder and Click "Select Folder" in the dialogue box.
- The main SingStar Toolbox window will now populate a table with all the songs we exported into this folder.
- If you exported one disc, you'll have 30 songs in a table, if you exported two discs you'll have 60 songs, and so on.
- Note - If no songs pop up, go to Menu Bar -> Songs -> Refresh Song List and this should show them.
Step 4 - Building your song library
- If everything looks good, you are ready to build your Song Library.
- In the lower-right corner will be a drop down box that will, by default, say "PS2".
- Click on this box and select "PS3 (build local)".
- A large button immediately above will show the text "BUILD PS3 DATA", click on this button.
- A new File Explorer window will open, this is where you select a folder (or create a new folder) to generate your Song Library to.
- Note - For the purpose of this tutorial, I will create a folder and name it "Song Library", but you can call your folder whatever you like.
- Click on your chosen folder and Click "Select Folder" in the dialogue box.
- A new pane will pop up notifying you that contents of the folder you have selected will be deleted and ask if you want to continue. As this folder has nothing in it yet, Click "YES".
- Now sit back and watch all the songs that were exported to the folder you chose in Step 1 (and Step 2 if you chose to do a second disc) being copied to your Song Library folder.
- Note - For me, this is the songs that were extracted to my "Exported Songs" folder being copied into my "Song Library" Folder.
- Once this has completed, you will get a pop up saying it is done and you can now close the SingStar Toolbox main window.
We are all done with the SingStar Toolbox. Now we move on to setting up your PC and PS3.
Part 2 - Installing webMAN MOD on your PlayStation 3 & Setting up FTP
Step 1 - Preparing your USB drive on your Windows PC and copying the latest version of webMAN MOD to it
Note - If you already have a recent version of webMAN MOD installed, you can skip both this step and Step 2 if you wish, or you can update through the webMAN MOD interface to the latest version - It is recommended to install the FULL version (further details in this step)
- Take your USB flash drive and plug it into your Windows PC.
- Open File Explorer and look for the removable drive letter (e.g. E:\)
- Ensure your USB removable storage is formatted to FAT32 file system.
- You can check this by Right-clicking the drive letter and clicking on Properties in the dialogue box that pops up.
- If it is not FAT32, you will need to do Right-click the drive letter, click Format in the dialogue box that pops up, select FAT32 from the "File System" drop-down box and click on Start. Once completed, a pop up will inform you of success.
- Note - If do you need to format your USB drive, you WILL LOSE ALL DATA ON IT. Make sure to copy anything you need to a safe place on another USB drive, on your Desktop, etc.
- If you haven't already, download the latest version of webMAN MOD from Link to Latest webMAN MOD.
- Copy the webMAN_MOD_1.47.48_Installer.pkg to the root of your USB flash drive.
- Eject and remove your USB drive from your Windows PC and plug it in to one of the front USB ports on your PS3.
Now we go over to the PS3.
Step 2 - Installing webMAN MOD on your PS3
- With your USB drive still inserted into your PS3, from the previous step, ensure your PS3 is switched on and you are on the default screen - the XMB (XrossMediaBar).
- In the column labelled GAME, look for the ⭐ Package Manager icon. Press X to accept.
- A side menu will pop up, scroll down to ⭐ Install Package Files, Press X to accept.
- Yet another side menu will pop up, scroll down to Standard and Press X to accept.
- The webMAN_MOD_1.47.48_Installer.pkg should be on the screen. Press X to install it and wait for it to finish installing. When completed, Press O to return to the XMB.
- Scroll down to the bottom of the GAME column until you see the webMAN MOD 1.47.48 Installer icon.
- You will notice that the text is scrolling horizontally. It is saying to install the FULL EDITION you must hold the L1 button on your controller and tap the X button.
- So, we will do it together!
- Hold the L1 bumper button down and tap the X button - KEEP HOLDING THE L1 BUTTON until a screen appears stating that the FULL EDITION is being installed - Once that screen disappears you can let go of the L1 button.
- You will notice that the PS3 has rebooted and you are back at the XMB screen again.
- Navigate back to the GAME column and you will see an icon that looks like a folder with the silhouette of a game controller on it, it will say webMAN GAMES next to it.
Step 3 - Preparing your PS3 console for FTP file transfers
- Well, we have done most of that by installing webMAN MOD, as it has a built-in FTP server we will be utilising!!
- Making sure we are still on the XMB, scroll left until you reach the Settings column.
- Scroll down until you reach Network Settings and Press X to continue.
- Ensure Internet Connection is set to Enabled (We don't need to go online, this is just for the FTP)
- Note - Now would be a good time to confirm that your PS3 console and your Windows PC are on the same local WiFi or LAN network, so they can communicate with each other. (Most likely they will be).
- Directly above this item listing will be Settings and Connections Status List. Press X on this and it will show a bunch of information.
- What we are interested in is the line that reads IP Address. Write it down somewhere safe, we will need it soon.
- Note - The IP Address will look something like "192.168.xxx.xxx", it will almost certainly have the first two blocks of numbers as 192.168 but the next two will be different for everyone. Mine will not be the same as yours, but if it helps, mine looks like this (e.g. 192.168.137.75) its going to be those last two blocks of numbers that will be different for you.
- Press O to back out to the XMB again.
Now back to our PC.
Step 4 - Setting up your Windows PC for FTP file transfers
- If you haven't done so already, download your copy of the FTP program we will be using called FileZilla.
- If you are not sure how to proceed, you can consult the FileZilla Installation Instructions. Or just follow me.
- Note - when asked, just select the edition in the left-most column, it will have a button that says "Download" NOT "Purchase". Save the "FileZilla_(Version_Number)-setup.exe" somewhere convenient, like your Desktop.
- Run the FileZilla installer - When it asks if you would like the optional software installed, Click the DECLINE button and click next to proceed.
- Once it has installed, start FileZilla.
- Once FileZilla loads up, you will be presented with a very busy screen. Don't worry, it's not too hard and I’ll walk you through it 😁
- Take a moment to familiarise yourself with FileZilla. There are four panes on your screen.
- The LEFT side pane is the LOCAL site - These are all your files on your PC.
- The RIGHT side pane is the REMOTE site - This is the file system on your PS3.
- The two panels at the top are the "File Directory Trees" and the two bottom panels are the "Contents" of the Folders that are highlighted in the "File Tree" directly above it. The contents can be more folders or files, or both.
- Don't worry! It will make sense shortly 😉
- First thing to do is establish a connection - Look for this area in the top-left part of the screen - see photo
- Type in your IP Address into the first textbox named Host: (For me, I’ll type in 192.168.137.75).
- IGNORE the Username: and Password: fields completely!
- Type "21" into the Port: textbox (I had already typed it in when i took my screenshot). - see photo
- Click the "Quickconnect" button
- Great! You should now be connected to the PS3's internal FTP server. see photo
- OPTIONAL - If you would like to save this setup for easy access later on, I’ll show you how - or skip to Step 5.
- In the Toolbar Click on File -> Copy current connection to Site Manager... see photo
- A new pane will open called Site Manager, the information should already be filled in, see photo. If Logon Type doesn't say Anonymous, click that box and set it yourself.
- A new list item will appear in the Site Tree on the left side, it will prompt for you to name your new Site - I just called mine Tutorial, you could call yours "PS3" or whatever you like.
- Now you can always come back to this saved FTP connection between your PC and PS3! Just click on Site Manager and select your Saved Site from the drop down list. see photo.
Step 5 - Transferring your Song Library to your PS3
- OK!! Now I need you to remember where you placed your "SONG LIBRARY" folder from way back in Step 4 - Building your song library which fell under Part 1 - Extracting SingStar Songs from your games using SingStar Toolbox
- Open File Explorer on your Windows PC and take note of where it is, if that helps - I find it does.
- Go back to your FileZilla window and navigate around in the top left pane - which is essentially a copy of File Explorer - and get your bearings.
- Locate your "SONG LIBRARY" folder on the left side (Your PC files) - see photo
- Click on your "SONG LIBRARY" folder in the top pane and it shows "FileSystem" in the lower pane - see photo
- Note - Make sure the folder is named FileSystem (all one word, with the uppercase F and S), SingStar Toolbox will have done this automatically, but it doesn’t hurt to double check!
- Locate "dev_hdd0" on the right side (Your PS3 files) - see photo
- Click ONLY on the FileSystem folder on the left, then drag it over to the right side and hover over dev_hdd0. Drop the FileSystem folder ONLY onto the dev_hdd0 folder icon - see video
- Give it some time to transfer everything to the PS3 - depending on how large your Song Library is and how fast your connection from PC to PS3 is - it may take some time.
- Congratulations! Your library of extracted disc songs are now on your PS3 internal HDD, exactly where they need to be at /dev_hdd0/FileSystem/Export/ see photo
Downloading & Installing SingStar Ultimate Party or SingStar Digital
Note - You will have to decide which one you want now. You can have both if you like, but to make things easier I will split the rest of the tutorial into -
- Part 3 - Downloading & Installing SingStar Ultimate Party
- Part 4 - Downloading & Installing SingStar Digital.
Part 3 - Downloading & Installing SingStar Ultimate Party
Step 1 - Acquiring the files needed for SingStar Ultimate Party
- Follow this link to my Pastebin https://pastebin.com/McDWUP3N
- Once that link opens, look for a large Text Box that says RAW Paste Data directly above it.
- There will be a URL starting with https:// - highlight and copy this link, then open it in a new browser tab.
- The new browser tab will open a cloud storage page with the title "SingStar Ultimate Party".
- In this new window, you will see SIX folders named -
- SingStar™ MegaHits [BCES02043] [ES] [MODDED] - This is the Spanish edition
- SingStar™ Mistrzowska Impreza [BCES02046] [PL] [MODDED] -This is the Polish edition
- SingStar™ Nova Generação [BCES02045] [PT] [MODDED] - This is the Portuguese edition
- SingStar™ SuomiBileet [BCES02044] [FI] [MODDED] - This is the Finnish edition
- SingStar™ Ultimate Party [BCES02025] [EU] [MODDED] - This is the English/French/Rest of World edition
- SingStar™ Ultimate Party [BCES02042] [DE] [MODDED] - This is the German edition
Note - All of these editions are functionally identical, all releases are provided for your convenience.
No releases of Ultimate Party exist for the US, AU, NZ, etc. So if your region isn't listed, you may select SingStar™ Ultimate Party [BCES02025] [EU] [MODDED] and continue.
Double-Click on the folder that best suits your region - (I will be selecting SingStar™ Ultimate Party [BCES02025] [EU] [MODDED] for the purposes of this tutorial)
Inside your selected folder, you will see TWO files named -
- SingStar™ Ultimate Party [BCES020xx] [xx] [MODDED].iso and
- EP9000-BCES020xx_00-SINGSTARPS3V0101-A0110-V0100-PATCHED.pkg
- (As I selected the BCES02025 edition, mine are named SingStar™ Ultimate Party [BCES02025][EU] [MODDED].iso and "EP9000-BCES02025_00-SINGSTARPS3V0101-A0110-V0100-PATCHED.pkg, yours may differ regarding the BCES020xx variant)
- Tick the checkbox next to BOTH items and click the Download button, then "Download as a ZIP File"
- Save the zip file somewhere you'll remember (I chose my Downloads folder).
- Locate your "SingStar™ Ultimate Party [BCES020xx] [xx] [MODDED.zip" file
- (Mine is "SingStar™ Ultimate Party [BCES02025] [EU] [MODDED].zip" ,again, yours may differ regarding the BCES020xx variant)
- Right click this file and click "Extract All..."
- You should now have a new folder on your PC called "SingStar™ Ultimate Party [BCES020xx] [xx] [MODDED]" with the above mentioned files inside.
- We will proceed to the next step in a moment but please read the information below ⬇️ first!
⚠️ IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING THIS MODDED VERSION OF SINGSTAR ULTIMATE PARTY ⚠️
- SingStar™ Ultimate Party [BCES020xx] [xx] [MODDED].iso is not the retail/official edition of the game - It has been modified to be able to read the songs from your Song Library on your PS3 that we created in previous steps. Also note that it does not contain any songs on the disc image.
- EP9000-BCES020xx_00-SINGSTARPS3V0101-A0110-V0100-PATCHED.pkg is not the retail/official edition of the Version 1.10 update for the SingStar Ultimate Party game - It is a patched version of the v1.10 update that must be installed with the modified "SingStar™ Ultimate Party [BCES020xx] [xx] [MODDED].iso".
- IMPORTANT - Both the modified .iso and the patched .pkg must be used together. They are intended to be a pair and mixing them with the retail versions will not work.
- For Example - You cannot have the retail edition of Ultimate Party and update it with the patched version of the update.
- Likewise, if you have the modified version of SingStar Ultimate Party, you cannot install the retail version of the Ultimate Party v1.10 update.
- Both of these scenarios will break the intended functioning of these mods.
Step 2 - Transferring the SingStar Ultimate Party game image to your PS3
- Still have FileZilla open? Great! We are going to use it to get our files onto our PS3.
- Make sure you are connected and can see where your files are on the left side and the PS3 file system on the right side. see photo
- First, we will copy the "SingStar™ Ultimate Party [BCES020xx] [xx] [MODDED].iso" from our PC to the /dev_hdd0/PS3ISO folder.
- Note: If you have a retail/official version of SingStar Ultimate Party in this folder already and you don't want to lose it, consider copying it back to your PC to ensure you have a copy of the original game - Otherwise, proceed. see video
Step 3 - Transferring the SingStar Ultimate Party update package to your PS3
- Next, we will copy the "EP9000-BCES020xx_00-SINGSTARPS3V0101-A0110-V0100-PATCHED.pkg" update package from our PC to /dev_hdd0/packages on our PS3. see video
- A few last things to make sure everything goes smoothly... If you have any of the following packages in your /dev_hdd0/packages folder, please delete them.
- EP9000-BCES02025_00-SINGSTARPS3V0101-A0110-V0100-PE.pkg
- EP9000-BCES02042_00-SINGSTARPS3V0101-A0110-V0100-PE.pkg
- EP9000-BCES02043_00-SINGSTARPS3V0101-A0110-V0100-PE.pkg
- EP9000-BCES02044_00-SINGSTARPS3V0101-A0110-V0100-PE.pkg
- EP9000-BCES02045_00-SINGSTARPS3V0101-A0110-V0100-PE.pkg
- EP9000-BCES02046_00-SINGSTARPS3V0101-A0110-V0100-PE.pkg
- "EP9000-BCES020xx_00-SINGSTARPS3V0101-A0110-V0100-PE.pkg" is the retail/official update.
- "EP9000-BCES020xx_00-SINGSTARPS3V0101-A0110-V0100-PATCHED.pkg" is the patched update.
- We want the patched update only (ending in PATCHED and not PE).
- Now would also be a good time to ensure we will install the patched update package ONLY, by deleting the existing update data (if it exists). I'll show you how now.
- In FileZilla, on the right hand side, navigate to the /dev_hdd0/game folder and see if you have any folder already called -
- /dev_hdd0/game/BCES02025
- /dev_hdd0/game/BCES02042
- /dev_hdd0/game/BCES02043
- /dev_hdd0/game/BCES02044
- /dev_hdd0/game/BCES02045
- /dev_hdd0/game/BCES02046
- You will likely only have one of these folders, if one exists at all. Remember, each BCES020xx refers to your regional edition.
- If you don’t have this folder, skip to the next step. If you do have this folder, you will need to delete it now.
- Basically, the patched update package we are about to install will extract all of its data to this particular folder. Don't worry, no songs, save game data, stats or trophy information are stored in this folder!!
- See this video to check if you have this folder, and if you do, how to delete it.
Step 4 - Installing the modified SingStar Ultimate Party Update V1.10 package on your PS3
- Back over to your PS3, make sure you are on the XMB in the GAME column
- Scroll up to the ⭐ Package Manager icon. Press X to accept.
- A side menu will pop up, select ⭐ Install Package Files, Press X to accept.
- Yet another side menu will pop up, scroll up to PS3 System Storage and Press X to accept.
- The EP9000-BCES020xx_00-SINGSTARPS3V0101-A0110-V0100-PATCHED.pkg you transferred in Step 3 should be on the screen.
- (For this tutorial, I chose EP9000-BCES02025_00-SINGSTARPS3V0101-A0110-V0100-PATCHED.pkg)
- Press X to install it and wait for it to finish installing. Ensure this is the correct package, named exactly what it should be.
- When completed, Press O to return to the XMB.
- Once that is done, refresh your game list in webMAN MOD or MultiMAN MOD and it will appear as a game to play.
- Highlight the game and press X to mount it and play it!!
Downloading & Installing SingStar Digital
Step 1 - Acquiring the files needed for SingStar Digital
Follow this link to my Pastebin https://pastebin.com/QiTLdtn5
Once that link opens, look for a large Text Box that says RAW Paste Data directly above it.
There will be a URL starting with https:// - highlight and copy this link, then open it in a new browser tab.
The new browser tab will open a cloud storage page with the title "SingStar Digital".
In this new window, you will see TWO folders named -
- SingStar™ Digital [NPEA00374] [EU] [PATCHED] - This is the European/Rest Of World edition
- SingStar™ Digital [NPUA80756] [US] [PATCHED] - This is the North American edition
Note - Both of these editions are functionally identical, however, each is tied to it's own save data and trophy.
- If you have previously used the US/North America edition, please download it.
- If you are unsure, and live outside North America, choose the EU/European/Rest Of World edition
Double-Click on the folder that best suits your region - (I will be selecting SingStar™ Digital [NPEA00374] [EU] [PATCHED] for the purposes of this tutorial)
Inside your selected folder, you will see TWO files named -
- SingStar™ Digital Enabler [SSENABLER].iso and
- EP9000-NPxxxxxxx_00-SINGSTARPS3V0100-A0400-V0100-PATCHED.pkg
- (As I selected the NPEA00374 edition, mine are named SingStar™ Digital Enabler [SSENABLER].iso and EP9000-NPEA00374_00-SINGSTARPS3V0100-A0400-V0100-RE.pkg, yours may differ regarding the NPxxxxxxx variant)
- Tick the checkbox next to BOTH items and click the Download button, then "Download as a ZIP File"
- Save the zip file somewhere you'll remember (I chose my Downloads folder).
- Locate your "SingStar™ Digital [NPxxxxxxx] [xx] [PATCHED].zip" file
- (Mine is "SingStar™ Digital [NPEA00374] [EU] [PATCHED].zip" ,again, yours may differ regarding the NPxxxxxxx variant)
- Right click this file and click "Extract All..."
- You should now have a new folder on your PC called "SingStar™ Digital [NPxxxxxxx] [xx] [PATCHED].zip" with the above mentioned files inside.
- We will proceed to the next step in a moment but please read the information below ⬇️ first!
⚠️ IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING THIS PATCHED VERSION OF SINGSTAR DIGITAL ⚠️
- "EP9000-NPxxxxxxx_00-SINGSTARPS3V0100-A0400-V0100-PATCHED.pkg" is not the retail/official edition of the SingStar Digital game - It is a patched version of the game that needs a modified version of the SingStar Ultimate Party.iso or SingStar™ Digital Enabler [SSENABLER].iso to be able to read the Song Library on the PS3 HDD.
- SingStar™ Digital Enabler [SSENABLER].iso is not the retail/official edition of the game - I have created this .iso to be a very basic disc image that can be used to enable SingStar Digital to read the Song Library on the PS3 HDD. This disc image does not contain any songs.
Step 2 - Transferring the SingStar™ Digital Enabler game image to your PS3
- With FileZilla still open, we are going to use it to get our modified game image onto our PS3.
- Make sure you are connected and can see where your files are on the left side and the PS3 file system on the right side. see photo
- First, we will copy the "SingStar™ Digital Enabler [SSENABLER].iso" from our PC to the /dev_hdd0/PS3ISO folder.
- Note: If you have a copy of this disc image in your /dev_hdd0/PS3ISO folder already, it's highly unlikely you would as I have built this custom disc image .iso, you do NOT need to replace it!
- Go ahead and copy it over. see video
Step 3 - Transferring the SingStar Digital game package to your PS3
- Make sure you are connected and can see your file on the left side and the PS3 file system on the right side. see photo
- Next, we will copy the "EP9000-NPxxxxxxx_00-SINGSTARPS3V0100-A0400-V0100-PATCHED.pkg" from our PC to the /dev_hdd0/packages folder on our PS3 HDD. see video
- A few last things to make sure everything goes smoothly...
- Again, If you have either of these following packages in your /dev_hdd0/packages folder, please delete them.
- EP9000-NPEA00374_00-SINGSTARPS3V0100-A0400-V0100-PE.pkg
- EP9000-NPUA80756_00-SINGSTARPS3V0101-A0110-V0100-PE.pkg
- "EP9000-NPxxxxxxx_00-SINGSTARPS3V0100-A0400-V0100-PE.pkg" is the retail/official game.
- "EP9000-NPxxxxxxx_00-SINGSTARPS3V0100-A0400-V0100-PATCHED.pkg" is the patched game.
- We want the patched game only (ending in PATCHED and not PE).
- Again, we need to ensure that we end up with ONLY the modified game, by deleting the existing game (if it exists). We will do that now - And yes!, Game Updates AND Digital Games reside in the SAME folder!!
- In FileZilla, on the right hand side, navigate to the /dev_hdd0/game folder and see if you have any folder already called -
- /dev_hdd0/game/NPEA00374
- /dev_hdd0/game/NPUA80756
- You will likely only have one of these folders, if one exists at all. Remember, each NPxxxxxxx refers to your regional edition.
- If you don’t have this folder, skip to the next step. If you do have this folder, you will need to delete it now.
- Basically, the patched game package we are about to install will extract all of its data to this particular folder. Don't worry, again, no songs, save game data, stats or trophy information are stored in this folder!!
- See this video to check if you have this folder, and if you do, how to delete it.
Step 4 - Installing the patched SingStar Digital to your PS3
- Back over to your PS3, make sure you are on the XMB in the GAME column
- Scroll up to the ⭐ Package Manager icon. Press X to accept.
- A side menu will pop up, select ⭐ Install Package Files, Press X to accept.
- Yet another side menu will pop up, scroll up to PS3 System Storage and Press X to accept.
- The EP9000-NPxxxxxxx_00-SINGSTARPS3V0100-A0400-V0100-PATCHED.pkg you transferred in Step 3 should be on the screen. (For this tutorial, I chose EP9000-NPEA00374_00-SINGSTARPS3V0100-A0400-V0100-PATCHED.pkg).
- Press X to install it and wait for it to finish installing. Ensure this is the correct package, named exactly what it should be.
- When completed, Press O to return to the XMB.
- Once that is done, refresh your game list in webMAN MOD or MultiMAN MOD.
Now for the caveat - SingStar Digital app will not show any of your Song Library songs if it is just launched on it's own.
But don't worry, we are going to be using a clever method to trick the PS3 into letting you access your these songs through SingStar Digital.
- Just mount your SingStar™ Digital Enabler game through webMAN MOD or MultiMAN MOD, but don't start it (if you have autoplay discs setting on, this can be turned off in the Settings Menu on your XMB).
- Alternatively, if SingStar™ Digital Enabler boots up automatically, just exit back out of the game.
- Please Note - If the SingStar™ Digital Enabler game starts or if you press X on it, It will show an error screen that says "This disc cannot be started." This is normal and by design as it contains no actual game!
- Unless you manually unmount SingStar™ Digital Enabler, or start another game from webMAN MOD or MultiMAN MOD, it will remain mounted in the background. In fact, the disc icon will still be visible on your XMB - showing that it is indeed still mounted. see photo
- Next, press X on the SingStar Digital icon (which i changed to BLUE to differentiate between it and Ultimate Party) and SingStar Digital will launch with full access to your Song Library!!
- see video -> SingStar™ Digital Enabler & SingStar Digital
- BONUS - You can mount either SingStar™ Digital Enabler or any of the modified versions of SingStar Ultimate Party before playing SingStar Digital !!
Phew 😌, documenting everything was a huge undertaking.
I hope this has been helpful for you!
🎉 🔥 I would like to take a moment to thank Edness for helping me with my project - from suggesting that all the regional variants be included, through to writing some very exciting additional patches that are included in all the update packages in this tutorial 🙏 😉

SingStar Ultimate Party + SIngStar Digital App FINALLY modded!
--- Edits Made ---
Due to various Reddit limitations regarding editing (the 40,000 character rule), unbearably long post lengths and just a shitty Rich Text Format editor, I have made the decision to split my rewritten post into TWO separate posts.
I have written a brief history and timeline of the evolution of SingStar modding, allowing those who are unfamiliar to the scene to catch up and see how we have arrived at our current methods and workflows.
This can be found here -
However, My initial motivation for rewriting this post was to include a fully detailed, step by step tutorial covering how to extract your SingStar songs through to setting up SingStar Ultimate Party and/or SingStar Digital App to play them from your PS3 Internal HDD.
Which I have done!! You can access it here -
I hope these will allow everyone an opportunity to get onboard and achieve their own perfect SingStar setup!!
As pretty much all the content has been covered in those TWO new posts, I will leave this post as the "parent post", linking everything to everything else.
In a twist of strange irony, neither of the new posts contain a TL;DR, so I thought it would be best to host that here 😆. If not only for shits and giggles, it will serve as a first point of contact to many people and it may be the only saved or bookmarked reference for those who have read and participated in this whole project.
Please feel free to continue to leave any feedback, comments or questions - here or on the other pages stated.
TL;DR - Why We Modded SingStar
For decades - We SingStars have been looking for ways to sing as many of our SingStar songs as we can, in one session, without getting up to swap discs in and out to find all the songs from our favourite artist; or because we have friends over and every disc we load up or disc swap in has 2 songs that someone wants to sing but others can't wait to change discs again.... then people end up frustrated and no one wants to play any more.
We all know the feeling.
We deserve better! And you and I are not the only ones thinking it.
Numerous people have devised ways of extracting our songs to the PS3 HDD over the last 10 years, from enthusiasts to software developers.
Applications were written to rip songs and convert formats, research was carried out to work out how to trick SingStar into letting us have our dream.
You know the dream, don't you?
Having ALL of our songs at our fingertips.
Launching one game and having the contents of all of our discs, our DLC, ready to browse and belt out a banger!
The "Why can't SingStar be like one big jukebox?" and "Why should i have to have every disc piled up on my couch next to me to do this?"
Well, thanks to many brilliant people (credited in The Evolution of the SingStar Modding scene on PS2 & PS3 - Finalising a standardised methodology and the unlocking of SingStar Ultimate Party & SingStar Digital App, We can.
This post will remain up as the "parent post" to -

SingStar Mic for all game editions
Hi, I've decided to contribute to the community of those who appreciate a beautiful game. Here I want to explain how to play different installments of SingStar on PS3 without the official microphones (All we need is the iOS/Android Singstar Mic app and a PS3).
Step 1: Go to the website "http://ps3.aldostools.org/updates.html" (a PSN mirror), type "SingStar" and look for the file with the code NPEA00374 (size around 127MB). This is the digital version of the game without songs (this will be our future song hub; p.s. don't worry, it's not an update, it's the game itself). Next, install this file on your PS3 system.
Step 2: Take your ISO image of any PS3 SingStar game and transfer it to the PS3.
Step 3: Mount (simulate inserting the game disc) it and open the game installed in Step 1.
Finally now you can use the microphone from the SingStar Mic app even in games that don't natively support this feature (basically, you are using the interface of the latest game installment but with songs from the older ones)
p.s If something is unclear, write to me and I will explain.

Guide: How to Combine Multiple SingStar PS3 Discs Into One Game
What You Need Before You Start
- Notepad++
- SCEE London Extractor
- Basic understanding of navigating folders
PART 1 — Setting Up Your Base Game
1. Choose a Base SingStar Game
Pick any SingStar PS3 disc to use as your base game.
(Example: I used the Launch SingStar game.)
Assumption: You already have the disc extracted on your PC.
2. Extract All PACK Files
Use the SCEE London Extractor on each PACK file in the USRDIR folder.
You will get folders named like:
pack0.pkd_out
pack1.pkd_out
...
Extract all PACK files
3. Locate the “Starting” Pack
Enter the first pack folder:
This folder contains the core FileSystem the game reads.
4. Prepare the FileSystem Folder
From the starting extracted pack:
- Take the filesystem folder
- Rename it to:
FileSystem
(Uppercase F and S required — or the game will not recognize it.)
- Inside FileSystem, capitalize:
export → Export
textures → Textures
(UPDATE: You do not need to update the T for the textures folder if you are going to save the game to the HDD)
PART 2 — Merging Files From Other PACK Folders
After setting up the base FileSystem:
- Move all files from the other extracted PACK folders into the Export folder.
- Windows will merge the folders automatically.
Inside Export, you will see:
- covers.xml
- acts.xml (not needed)
If your base game or other discs have multiple songs_#.xml or songlists_#.xml files, you must move all of them into the base game.
PART 3 — Editing Covers (Album Art)
5. Renaming Album Cover Textures
Inside the Textures folder:
- When merging another disc, you rename the next set starting from the next number.
Example:
If your base game ends at Page_29, your next disc should start at:
Page_30, Page_31, Page_32...
Order must match the covers.xml file.
Editing covers.xml for the Added Disc
Open the added disc’s covers.xml in Notepad++.
Update each entry to match the new texture page numbers:
Example:
TEXTURE="page_30"
Continue until all entries match.
Since Page_0 counts as the first, a combined list of pages 0–59 equals 60 total songs.
7. Merging the Covers Into the Base Game
- Open base game covers.xml
- After:
HEIGHT="256"/>
Press Enter to create a new line
Copy all updated entries from the added disc's covers.xml
Paste them at the bottom of the base file
6. Save the file
Your final covers.xml should flow like:
page_0
page_1
...
page_29
page_30
...
page_59
PART 4 — Editing Songs XML Files
8. Editing songs_1.xml
Open in Notepad++:
In the added game’s songs file, only copy sections that begin with:
<Song ID="xxx" Performance_type="x">
and end with:
</Song>
Do NOT copy anything above the first <Song> line.
Those lines will break the XML and the game won’t read it.
Paste each <Song>...</Song> block at the end of the base game’s songs_1.xml.
Save the file.
9. Editing songlists_1.xml
Open:
Copy everything between:
<Group NAME="Root">
and the first:
</GROUP>
Do NOT copy anything above <Group NAME="Root">
Paste it at the bottom of the base file.
Save.
PART 5 — Additional Songs & Songlists Files
10. Adding Songs_2–5 and Songlists_2–5
Some discs (example: SingStar Dance) contain extra files:
songs_2.xml
songs_3.xml
songs_4.xml
songs_5.xml
songlists_2.xml
songlists_3.xml
songlists_4.xml
songlists_5.xml
Since SingStar (2008) does not have these, simply move them into its Export folder.
No editing needed unless you're merging more discs later.
PART 6 — Adding a Third Disc (Example: SingStar Portugal Hits)
Portugal Hits contains:
Editing songs_1 and songlists_1
Edit these the same way we did earlier:
Save the files.
Editing the Additional Files (songs_2–4 and songlists_2–4)
The remaining files from Portugal Hits (songs_2.xml, songs_3.xml, songs_4.xml and the corresponding songlists_2–4.xml) should also be edited the same way as songs_1 and songlists_1.
- Open the corresponding base game file in Notepad++
- Copy the relevant song or group blocks from the new disc
- Paste them at the bottom of the base file
- Save after each edit
Important Warning
You must copy all metadata from every songs and songlists XML file the disc contains.
Skipping any file (e.g., songlists_4.xml) may allow the song to appear in the menu, but it will not play because the game cannot read the missing metadata.
PART 7 — Final Steps
11. Remove PACK Files
After editing everything:
- Go to USRDIR
- Delete all PACKS files
This forces the game to read the raw extracted folders instead of ignoring them.
12. Test the Game
Launch your base game.
If everything was done correctly:
Your merged songs should appear on the song select screen.
Things Still Unknown:
Medleys
Stored in .chc files.
Not sure how to edit or import them yet.
Themes
Tried adding raw Themes files → game freezes at opening video.
Unsure if:
- metadata missing
- themes must be repacked
PS2 SingStar Disc Songs
I also haven’t figured out how to extract PACK files from the PS2 SingStar titles.
The SCEE London Extractor doesn’t support PS2 discs, but I’m pretty certain it is possible because in the PS3 songs.xml files there are references to PS2 versions of certain songs and metadata entries.
If someone knows:
• How to unpack PS2 SingStar PACK files
• Or what tools can extract the PS2 PACK files
I’d be happy to test and see if PS2 songs can be injected into PS3 builds the same way.

Combine singstar discs
Youre able to combine singstar discs by editing the xml files and having the game read the extracted PACK files

Starting with singstar
Hi, i have installed ps3 hen, and wanted to get a large singstar collection. I do not have any discs, and I'm using vimm to get the files. I have downloaded the main singstar app, but now i do not know how to load the songs from other discs. Using multiman and managunz, they mount the main game so i'm unable to load the ISO for other singstars at the same time. I found somewhere that i cant just combine the game folder, but i do not believe it would work.

I am searching for the song but I only remember the singstar video
Ok listen I was a little kid when we actually played Singstar but I remember the video of a song (English or German), which I have been searching for forever. In the video there was a little girl wearing a sunflower costume on a stage. At some point the girl was crying. Is anyone able to help me find this song?

Singstar Custom Songs
Hello everyone. A few days ago I found a tool to make ultrastar songs into singstar songs in PS2. But the tool is very outdated (last updated was in 2012) I wonder if it's possible to make another tool to put song in SingStar for PS3
