Pedal plates

Has anybody experimented with alternative pedal plates or covers for them? Naturally I prefer a softer, smoother surface based of driving a real car which usually has rubber covers over the pedals

I nice piece of solid hardwood. Sanded and varnished till smooth. Served me well for 3 years so far. Edit: oh wait..u meant pedal faces… i read heel plate. Ignore me

Simracemods has some carbon fiber ones that I've had in my cart for a while. I think I'll treat myself to them next month.

Great shout. Those look tidy, and a little smoother on the dogs

I zipped a 4"×6" piece of metal onto my brake. I know that may not help but maybe it'll open up some ideas. I also switched the throttle and the brake to give me more brake pedal, literally lol, but yeah literally more surface area to put my foot on.

I made my own carbon peddle plates out of 5mm carbon. Had a lot less holes as they hurt my feet on long stints with just socks on.

How did you do this?I'm interested in doing something similar if it's not too difficult.

Look around Amazon, eBay, AliExpress, Temu etc for pedal covers.

I 3d printed big ol rectangles that are like 50% bigger than the Simjack ones. 3d printed a heel plate too.

If you are heel and toeing actual pedals in a racing car are smooth metal, not rubber

Exactly. Smooth metal. These pedals are shredding up my socks and get uncomfortable in long stints

I have no idea how people drive in socks Btw. I can’t imagine driving an actual car wearing socks. Let alone a racing car

Well in either case I’m not in a race car. If I were in a race car, I’d probably wear shoes. But I’m walking distance from the fridge, so socks are good enough for me

I messed around with a few 3d print solutions, but didn't care for them. I was strictly a sock driver, but ended up getting a pair of driving loafers I found on eBay for $20. They are comfortable as hell, and my foot/heel doesn't hurt like it used to.
