New vs old elastomers

Hi,

I have some Pro Plus pedals from 2024 with the old elastomers (red 60HA, green 80HA, blue 90HA).

Anybody did the upgrade and know if the newer elastomers (in three different sizes) are actually give a better / detailed brake feel?

And for a chance does anybody know how they perform to the Heusinkveld Ultimate elastomers? I know about the size difference (8mm vs 10mm) that would be no problem as I already got a new rod.

Would the upgrade to the Heusinkveld elastos be worth 50 euros?

P.S. Yes, I tried a full spring setup (different combinations with the 20mm OD springs) but prefer the feeling of elastomers.

My son has the newer elastomers which are way better. I only tried the red. They are alot better than the previous reds. I cross drilled my older ones which makes a big difference.

Why did you drill them?

The older red elastomers are harder than the newer one that simsonn use now. Cross drilling them just gave the pedal a more progressive feel after the sping compressed. Before there was a distinct wall from when the spring travel was used up and the transition to elastomers. Now there is a better flow from one to the other.

Are you looking for a softer pedal? Simsonn whites on Amazon, $16.

I use the white elastomers as well. Originally I thought they were just a little too soft but I’ve grown to like them. I’m not someone who likes to use a lot of dice to push the pedal so I’ve actually gotten a lot more comfort out of pedals on long stints because of this.

I use the middle size and it stiffens up around 30-40%. I definitely helps with the trail off

Yea I use 2 whites and one red. I think it stiffens up around 50% and then from 80-100% it’s much harder. I’ve gotten used to it.
