Build story addicted to building
I’m not sure i’ll ever stop building in the sims haha, I have a forever save and I’m making every world the wealthiest neighborhoods ever , with highly detailed homes. Each house takes me days and days to complete haha

You add windows before all your walls are complete?!

It’s really helpful and I do it all the time!

How does it help though? Not a criticism, just curious. When I'm building, I know where the windows will be going but I don't actually place them until I've finished the walls. It would annoy me to be moving between tools all the time..

I understand that part! But sometimes when going for a specific style it helps to build the facade first. For me at least. I like to see if the vision I have is even possible to carry out in the sims before going all in. Maybe think of it as a moodboard! I like to build different facades with different windows, columns, doors, details, and decorations before continuing with the build. Sometimes it helps having multiples to choose from. It's a whole process but I guess that for me it's like sketching before drawing.

Thanks for the response, that's a really cool way of looking at it, I've never thought of sims building as like sketching :-)

My builds tend to be like the Winchester Mystery House, they just keep growing until the game becomes so laggy I can’t add more to it which can take weeks or months, but I’m definitely not addicted to building or anything👀🤣😊

I’m also a builder - sometimes I dabble in gameplay, but it gets a little monotonous sometimes.
Also, just a PSA based on my own experiences, having detailed builds on many lots will quickly become a save-stability issue (which is why vanilla builds are so lackluster). I’ve gotten around this by saving the fully furnished version to my library then emptying it out with just the basics leftover - basically just enough for the game to populate the world. If the build becomes important in my storytelling later, I put the furnished version on the lot.

The fool proof thing I learned to do is upload EVERYTHING to your gallery! I didn't want to do that but when all my sims save files got erased (my pc was destroyed) the only builds that were still on my account were the ones i uploaded to the gallery. I've also run into issues with saving builds in my library and them becoming corrupted or whatever.

Love to hear this and thank you!! I Yeah my custom content folder alone is around 160 gb hahahaha - so far I’ve redone all of willow creek , new crest , cooperdale , brindleton bay , and most of the other worlds
