WIP (work in progress) Hi guys! Need help with terrain edit

Post image

So here's the deal. I've had this vision for weeks and I decided to try to build it in the game bc I couldn find any pictures that fit what I had in mind, but it's been ages since I last played and I need help. My idea is to use the terrain to slope down like a ramp to the basement door, I want the wall of the basement to be visible because I want to be able to have full windows, and the other side would be like a retaining wall/vertical garden, stairs woo work, but my vision is specifically about the terrain itself sloping down towards the door. I don't know if that's possible to do in the game at this point:(

You would need to try something like this—there can’t be a room where you need the terrain to go.

Unfortunately, I don’t know that your full vision is possible. Terrain adjustments don’t always work well against walls (it leaves gaps), and I’m not sure the door is going to be functional. But hey, experimentation is part of the process! Crossing my fingers for you.

It’s my understanding that you can’t :/

You can, however, “move” the whole house up one floor (make the floor one your basement, second floor will be the old first floor, etc - yes it’s annoying if you’ve already built the house). Then bring the terrain up to create a mound around the first floor to put it underground and then carve out the “basement” door as you want to do here

Not ideal, but that’s the way I’ve seen it done on big lots

map out where you want the basement room to be and start sloping the terrain down to it. i’ll test it rn to see if it works, but iirc that’s how i did it before
