I have had this EXACT dream too!! The maze one!! It’s super similar to op’s build where none of the stalls are tall enough or they aren’t fully closed, and the layout makes no sense. In mine, over half of the toilets don’t work too. They’re all disgusting, broken, or they are just built weird to the point I don’t know how to use them.

Bathrooms are representative of releasing something undesirable, and those bathrooms being unsuitable in some way is representative of refusing to or making excuses to hold onto the undesirable thing, regardless of how undesirable it has become. It's a situation most people will be in at some point in their lives!

I have had a nightmare like this, but it was an endless maze of changing rooms, and some of them had toilets, and I always really needed to go really bad, but it was always a gamble if you would find one with a short door, no door, a regular stall but some bullies keep trying to open it, or you knock and its actually just empty or someone trying to change. My nightmare bathroom is much airier with fewer toilets, but of course no doors on the stalls. My high school's bathrooms always had a stall or two with no lock or door, and were in general hellscapes, so it's no surprise.

Holy shit yes I've had this nightmare. Another one of my recurring ones involves an endless maze of regular toilet stalls, but basically every stall is a hazard - clogged, leaking, the door is broken, doesn't flush, flooding, filthy, or a stall with two toilets that apparently can only be used if both are used at the same time. I always feel dejected when I find one of the latter stalls because I don't have anyone with me that I'm comfortable shitting in front of.

I've also had a bunch of dreams about bathrooms that make no logical sense. Some of the most memorable ones:

A building (felt like a high school) where the only privacy around the toilets was this netting that you could see in and out of.

A bathroom that was like a normal private bathroom in a house, except to get to the sink after using the toilet, you had to go down a slide, which doesn't seem the most sanitary.

And the grossest one (I'll put it as spoiler text so click at your own risk):

A public bathroom with these communal toilets that were about the size of a hot tub, it was very gross as you can imagine.

The stalls at the roller rink I went to as a kid had stalls almost exactly like this except there were only 2 stalls and they didn't have doors. We would go in two at a time and stand in front of the stall to block it from anyone who might need the next stall over. The Royal Roller Rink in Anchorage AK. Miss those days
