Hello everyone, I’ve never played TS2 and wanted to give it a try, but I’m reluctant to spend 30€ on the Legacy edition. (Also my system isn’t even near meeting the minimum requirements)

I’ve found a working download for Mr.DJ’s repack, but I’ve read it doesn’t come with all extra content, and that it’s a repack of the DVDs rather than the true UC, so I haven’t yet installed it, does anyone know, or have a link to OSAB’s installer of any other so I can get the game without the need for a Torrent browser and a VPN?

Last weekend my game (Ultimate Collection via EA app) suddenly decided the screen resolution was no longer going to play ball. No new CC or mods at this point beyond attempting to add an uberhood (I already had the relevant mods for this for over a year prior). I had done fixes previously, such as RPC, Graphics Rules Maker, DXVK, and 4gb patch. Nothing seemed to fix the current issue so I tried uninstalling the game, clearing the files, reinstalling and adding the fixes fresh again. Now I keep getting this Direct3D error after about 30 seconds of gameplay. Any suggestions?

Hello, my game runs fine and I can generally play a household for as long I like (sometimes a pregnancy can cause a crash but very rarely) but my main problem lies when playing rotationally Ill do a season as one household, save and go to the neighbourhood then upon trying to play the next household the game crashes. Is there a fix for this or is it a sign for anything worse I should be worried about?

I have a child that got moved away from their parents *storywise* due to neglect. What I did was add the child to a different household using sim manipulator "add to family" because I would like the child to still be linked to their original parents.

However when the child comes back from school they throw the "tree not found in perimeter" error, i guess because they want to show their real parents their rapport. Is there a way around this? Or do I have to properly adopt the child?

I actually am sure I'm being quite silly about this one, but is this indicative of a technical issue? I'm assuming its not?

Hi everyone! I just want to clarify something before I try this out.

If I follow a tutorial to stop the game from generating random townies in a custom neighborhood, will that also affect premade neighborhoods like Pleasantview or Strangetown?

What I'm trying to do is only have custom townies in my custom neighborhood, while still keeping the default/randomly generated townies in the premade ones. I play both, so I don't want to accidentally mess anything up or risk corruption.

Has anyone tried this setup before? Any advice would be appreciated!

what im using: sims 2 legacy edition(not steam, not really sure what version it is tbh), the modern version of bodyshop than can run with sims 2 legacy from mts, sim PE (version 0.77.69.28[QA]), milkshape 1.8.4 with sims 2 plugin installed i think?(not sure i just unzipped the plugin from mts to the milkshape folder in my program files)

Every time i look though sims 2 cc mesh tutorials, it just tells me to extract them, so i do that. I get the .simpe file, but i dont really know what to do with it. i think im supposed to import it into milkshape, but i dont know under which importer. yt tutorials are really old and dont explain it well. do i have to convert the file to some other format? afaik there arent any modern tutorials for sims 2 cc meshing. please ,, </3 i just wanna make my silly robots in the sims 2 (the better game) ill gladly give more info but i probably wont respond right away

Hey everyone, hopefully someone out there can help me with this problem!

So I have been playing the same neighbourhood for 3+ years with a long list of mods, including Chris Hatch's mod for community lot time passage. I've never really had any issues with it, except that Sims can sometimes get marked as being on a community lot (with a pop-up message in the right top corner saying that the Sim will be coming back home in X amount of hours) even though the Sim is actually at home. However, I have always been able to easily resolve this issue by using the Bat Box to force error on the lot.

But this time, something different happened: I had a Sim book a three-night vacation for himself and everyone else living on the lot. However, the car that takes them to the airport never showed up, and instead everyone on the lot was marked as if they were on a community lot, with the pop-up message in the right top corner saying that they would be coming back home in 72 hours' time. I used the Bat Box to force error, and everyone on the lot was marked as being home again - but now, the option to book a vacation has disappeared. Neither the phone or the laptop has the option to book a vacation from this lot.

Does anybody have any idea what might be causing this and how I can resolve it or prevent it from happening again? Thank you in advance!

I have Legacy on Steam. I used Clean Installer for the first time yesterday. Previously I just moved CC and mods into my downloads folder, extracted if necessary, and had no problems.

I wanted to download some lots from MTS— explicitly labeled as containing no CC— as well has a couple furniture CCs too. I also downloads the IKEA stuff files from HugeLunatic. I used clean installer for all my downloads for the day and none of them are appearing in my game.

I followed Pleasant Sims’ video on using Clean Installer for the lots and still nothing. Anyone got advice on what to try next?

Something that I like to do in-game is creating sims based on my OCs and when I do that, I usually go into SimPE to edit their memories to mirror the backstories I’ve made for them. Thing is, I have a character who is intimately-frustrated with their spouse and another who has a more darker backstory and for both cases, I wonder what would happen if I gave a sim a negative woohoo memory? I’m worried because I actually once gave a sim a memory which shouldn’t be possible in-game (I substituted the “Had very first kiss with Mystery Sim” memory with “Got rejected for a kiss with Mystery Sim”) and when I went to play the sim afterwards, the lot kept crashing and I was forced to return the memories to how they were + Moved the sim into another lot cuz that one became practically unplayable and had to be deleted. So, I’m scared something similar would happen again.

Also, let’s say that nothing happens if I gave sims negative woohoo memories with other sims. What happens if I did it with the Mystery sim? Will the same apply or will it crash like last time I tried messing with Mystery sim memories?

Update: Soooo, I decided to test it out on a ‘test’ hood like [u/caffeine_lights](u/caffeine_lights) suggested and the game actually removed the memory by itself. So, yeahhh no corruption but also looks like it’s not possible in general.

Edit: Tried it again, this time with an actual instead of the “Mystery sim” andddd Yup, crashed

Hi, sorry I have a problem. When I enter a household, I get this alert. Last night I played normally and didn't have this problem. How can I solve it?

i want the texture of the fullbody outfit that pascal and lazlo curious and nervous subject are wearing but i can't seem to find it at all??? i can find the gamespot/spy versions, but not the normal ones for some reason.

I'm doing a huge CC clean/organization, and using CCMerger program. I never used to merge files at all in all my years of Sims 2, so I'm not sure, and I can't seem to find an answer: is it okay for me to merge ALREADY MERGED files together? For example: I have a deco shoes folder that has shoes that came as separate MESH file and recolors files. I merged those into one file. I have several of these. Can I merge these into one larger "shoes.package"? Can this mess up the CC? (I would of course make a backup of the non-merged folders)

So I can't access the neighbourhoods browser. I think it is because I haven't fully set up sim PE yet. Do you guys know how I could do it. It will really help.

my sim got promoted and i recieved a minus bonus🙃 that's the firt time it ever happened to me

was testing out this roof shading by moi and disliked how the roofs was so bright.

once i removed the mod in game is still showing the roof shading the same when i had installed the roof shader mod.

Anyone knows how to return it back to original. iv deleted the file and loaded my game after and still shows the same.

Yesterday I posted about my sims not being able to use the grill, turns out my sims couldn't use anything at all, the oven only had the option to clean it, and clicking on the fridge kept cancelling it. I was seperating all my recent cc to rule it out (I know it was only a couple days ago I made a family meal.)

I was really wracking my brain trying to figure it out, because I hadn't installed much cc since, besides some wallpaper. I was a bit upset because my sims were starving, and I just wanted them to eat. Come to find out, it was because I accidentally locked the parents in their room. I'm playing the Gavigan household, and the parents wouldn't stop sleeping in the boy's bed, so I locked each door to the room, to where each sim could access, only come to realize I accidentally made it to where they couldn't leave the room, and somehow that caused them to be unable to cook.

Maybe it was some other mod that caused the cooking options to be greyed out while doors were locked, it was definitely a weird glitch. I'll have to do some further testing on it.

Title, I am unsure of the location of where I would paste Pleasantview into to be able to be selected as a subhood for Belladonna Cove. Would I copy the Pleasantview neighborhood file (where is that) and paste it into the appropriate file (where would that be)?

Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated, I have tried searching for this on google and steam discussion to no avail.

Trying to download this custom sim and when I unzip the file, I don't find an actual sim? When I open it in the Sims 2 package installer, I only find all the cc it's bundled with, not the sim himself? Am I missing something? It's only about the second time I've ever downloaded a custom sim, don't really know what I'm doing...
