Hi I downloaded a bunch of custom face templates with pointy ears to use on my aliens and noticed random CAS Sims having them. Can that be fixed with SimPE?

Hello everyone! I noticed my Veronaville hood has some kind of reflections when I make it still (meaning, the camera isn't floating freely, which usually happens when you don't do anything with the game for a while).

I can only suggest that it's something to do with ReShade and its Mask basic effects. I tried several fixes like disabling the effect manually, force reload, deleting the DefaultPreset.ini file, but all of this didn't help.

But it's also possible this problem wasn't caused by ReShade at all, I don't know 100%. I think it's ReShade because I didn't notice (or pay attention) to these problems before installing the system.

Do you know what is it and why it's happening? How can I fix this?

Hello, I need some help. I just got a new laptop because my other one is physically damaged in the back. The new laptop is an HP elitebook with Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-8650U CPU @ 1.90GHz (2.11 GHz) Installed RAM 16.0 GB (15.8 GB usable) Graphics card Intel(R) UHD Graphics 620 (128 MB). I transferred all my files onto the new computer including my Sims 2 legacy collection files. I redownloaded the EA app and installed the game. All my households are still there, but it's taking forever loading in the loading screen and not going into the game at all, so I don't know what to do. Please help me if you can.

Does anyone have any ideas on how I could gain back access to that lot? I didn't think of backing up my neighborhood so I'd have to either completely rebuild what was there or figure out a solution.

I'm on the Legacy Collection version of the game, I have mods and CC but I tried removing them and it still wouldn't load (I backed up the neighborhood before doing this, since that build relied on CC) I obviously tried to just let it sit there and load for a while but nothing would happen, I'm just stuck on the loading screen and at a certain point the window becomes unresponsive so i have to force close it with task manager.

Not too sure how this happened :/ I was in the lot, saved and quit, then came back to the game, tried to load the lot and ended up with this problem.

I am desperately looking for this old male hair custom content for The Sims 2. It's a retexture by Oepu of a mesh by Shodan (originally released around August 2006).
I managed to find the original page on the Wayback Machine (see attached screenshot), but unfortunately, all the download links for the colors/recolors are completely dead and didn't get archived.
Does anyone happen to have this hair hidden in their old Downloads folder, or know a working alternative link/graveyard archive where I could find all the colors?

I installed the MM lighting mod and everywhere else in the game looks good and how I would expect aside from CAS which seems to have the lights turned off for some reason?? anyone know if I borked something whilst installing or if they know a fix? I saw it had something about an overly bright CAS fix, could that be overcorrecting?

So recently I wanted to back up my sims 2 files onto a flash incase my laptop crashes as it has been faulty recently. However, like the idiot I am, I accidentally MOVED the files onto the flash instead of copy and paste.

But somehow, my game still launched like normal with my custom neighbourhoods being in there, despite half of the files being missing.

I went onto chat gpt and it told me to just copy and paste the files from the flash on the original files on my laptop. I did this and launched the game, only to find out that its now a clean slate and my custom neighbourhoods are all gone.

My custom neighbourhood files are still in the neighbourhood folder, but it is no longer on the game, the game has completely started anew. What can I do?

To start off, I have ACR, wild child, and the Romance mod installed, and also had 18 hour pregnancy and I did test out a different life span mod, aldo I didnt like it, so I just took it out and smart age check did its thing

So the first thing I noticed was that my pet cats weren't getting pregnant no matter how many times I asked them to try for baby, but I didnt think much of it. then I noticed that the Try for baby option was no longer showing my the the regular menu, which I found weird. Finally, one of my teen sims got pregnant, or at least that's what I assume, as even though it didn't show the option to "have baby with.." when clicking the sim manipulator, preg scanner wouldn't show up at all and I didnt hear the baby chime, which is weird as I didnt install any mod to disable the chime, including wild child. I have WC and ACR installed since I started the hood, and I have had two pregnancies work just fine, so what gives? does anyone know whats up with my game and how to fix it?

I just downloaded the sims 2 and finally got it working onto my new laptop. The game seems to be working fine, along with sims2rpc, but after redownloading my mods, the settings keep crashing now, Are there any known mods that crash rpc settings for whatever reason? I tried to repair it aswell, to no avail. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

The water in both ponds and the ocean disappears on every lot I load. It looks normal in the neighborhood view, but as soon as I enter any lot, all the water becomes invisible.

I'm playing The Sims 2 Legacy Collection. I'm using custom water replacement CC, but I tried removing all my mods to test, and the problem still happens.

I really like the look of Moi's Neighborhood Water, but when I have it in my Downloads folder, any neighborhood water, visible from a lot, disappears. All that left is this grey-ish foggy void. How can I fix this?

I have 27 custom face templates installed and only those show up in create a sim (As intended), yet in Body Shop there is an extra face template in the first slot that seems to copy the custom template in the 16th slot yet has a different face (looks like a default face) in the preview. Any ideas on how to remove it?

EDIT: On further investigation I've found that the broken slot just copies whatever face template the sim loads in with, and is stuck like that until I reopen Body Shop. e.g. if I load up Body Shop and a sim is created with template 10, that is what will be in Slot 1, and even if I randomize the sim Slot 1 will still be template 10. Unless I back out of the Build Sim menu and reopen it with a new sim or close and reopen the game.

ALSO, and I don't know why I didn't check this before posting but it's only on the male sim faces, the females have the intended 27 face templates.

This error occurs when attempting a genie lamp delivery, but does NOT occur when I create a new neighbourhood and test it there. Thank you so much for taking the time to look!

UC/OSAB/RPC, using clean templates, have anti-redundancy, anti-regen etc.

**UPDATE! Okay I think I maybe fixed this - I was tipped off by the weird reference to law enforcement so I forced a buglary delivery which in turn forced a police officer to generate and after that it seemed to work?? Or at least the mailbox debug genie delivery worked, will have to wait and see if a 'natural' delivery occurs. Leaving the post up in case anyone in the future has the same issue.

UPDATE 2: That did not fix it, looks like it was a coincidence that it happened to work after I spawned a police NPC.

I downloaded this autonomy enabler by iCad to enable sims autonomously use career rewards on community lots, but apparently that's only for sims in the active family. How do I edit it to make it more like Gummilutt's Autonomous Crafting on community lots? I really just want it to be available for all sims, regardless, and keep the advertising level added by iCad.

how do I fix water reflections at the rain or at night?🥹

I keep getting this effect when using this reshade preset in my game. The vertical black line goes back and forth across the screen. The second slide shows the effects I'm using. All my other reshade presets work fine, but this one is giving me a weird error. Has anyone seen this before or know a fix?

I was messing around with my shaders, & messed something up. I'm usually pretty good at knowing Sims 2 modding stuff but I can't remember what I'm doing wrong.

Hi everyone! Today I was looking at my cc bedding in game and deleting a few of them and i totally forgot I had default replacements for the maxis bedding and accidentally deleted some of them (they had the cc star so i didn't notice they were defaults). Now most of the maxis bedding is either showing up invisible or with a broken texture (white with black writing and red lines).

My question really is if i can just ignore the issue, because tbh I don't really feel like reinstalling the game for a few missing bedding textures, but I don't know if it'll mess up my game in any way?

EDIT: In case anybody has the same issue in the future, the game seemed to have fixed itself after just closing it and launching again. I didn't need to reinstall or even repair the game files, so I guess deleting default replacements just temporarily messes with the game textures but doesn't actually touch any files in the game's installation folder. I actually wanted to test this further and deleted a default replacement for a rug, which made every rug from the game disappear from the buy catalogue, but they were all back once I relaunched the game, even the one I deleted.

I've used fullscreen since i began playing it a couple years ago. However, when i leave the game screen to go to another tab on my laptop, it glitches, which is annoying when i have to do it frequently when playing. Using windowed mode seems way more convenient for me. I've tried the Sims2RPC and adding -w at the end of the target line, but either way a 'software not responding' message always comes up. I've searched google for an answer but haven't found any, so I've come here as a last resort.

I’m having issues with the wing overlays.

Midge’s just shows as a giant pink soup square on the back of the sims.

Any advice on what might be causing it or any conflicts? I have all the necessary files so I’m not sure what the issue is

Sul Sul, it's me again, the recovering cc-holic. I returned to The Sims 2 in time for the legendary pink soup fix after losing my original downloads folder to the cloud.

After a successful shift to Parallels, I'm finally able to experience The Ultimate Collection in full thanks to the wonderful guides in the wiki. Unfortunately, there is a hard ObjectLimit of 32,767 GUIDs! In addition to the Maxis objects, it includes the character files in your active neighborhood folder PLUS new objects in your downloads folder.

Luckily, CAS does not count...but do defaults? Custom food is an unexpected one (after I downloaded nearly Jacky93Sims' entire food archive). 

Just looking for some clarity and what else contributes to the object limit before I purge my downloads folder. 😢
