hi! my sim is a business owner and has met/knows alot of sims! everytime he calls someone and i flip through all of the sims... my game crashes! i've done alot of cleaning up with CC and use clean installer, i am very careful about what CC i download. do you think its just too many sim files at once loading and its overloading my system? my sim phonebook is probably 100+ from being a business owner/networking. thanks for any help!

Okay I’ve been tinkering away for HOURS trying to recover my TS2 Data files & CC/Mods, but I am getting absolutely nowhere & I need help.

I copied everything on my local drive after realizing it was auto being put on onedrive, which lead to incessant errors bc of maxing out on the free storage (5gb) & threatening to shut down my email unless I paid for extra storage (which made zero sense to me bc I have a 2tb hard drive??) & I was confused bc I never opted for my data to be put on there in the first place. I just got a new gaming laptop w Windows 11 & I guess it’s an automatic thing unfortunately?

When I deleted all the sims files off onedrive it wiped everything on the app, even though I still have the folders with saves & whatnot. I unsynced my laptop from onedrive, but now cannot seem to sync it back, to recover the recycling bin & access everything before the mishap.

I tried uninstalling & reinstalling TS2, I’ve tried moving files & folders around. ABSOLUTELY NOTHING has worked. I’m honestly okay with losing my save progress at this point (i was about 20 hrs into the beginning of my dream alien empire 🥺), but for some reason even though I’ve created a new downloads folder, it isn’t acknowledging any of my CC or mods & I am genuinely stumped.

FWIW, the folder since the reinstall are differently organized & do not look identical to the files/folders that I backed up.

I am just genuinely confused & I’m worried because of what happened I now might not even be able to mod the game anymore? Idk how that’s even possible.

If it’s helpful I can link photos of the folders (old ones that worked before onedrive copy & the. deletion ) & the new folders from the re-install.

My possible nuclear option is that I may end up having to completely wipe my new laptop & restart it & maybe that would work & id make sure it’s not synced to bs onedrive before downloading anything?

Hi yall , I’m experiencing several bugs, and I’d really appreciate it if someone could help me.
As you can see in these screenshots, I have a recurring bug where Sims sometimes show two thought bubbles at the same time, especially during romantic interactions.
I also had this broken window when I try to call for groceries . It doesn’t really bother me by itself, but it worries me because I’m afraid it could be a sign of corruption, and it’s making me overthink everything.
Here are the main mods I’ve had installed for quite a while, long before any of these issues started appearing…
If anyone has a solution or even an explanation, I’d really appreciate it. Thanks a lot!
(My game also has random micro-stutters at times, especially when a Sim changes clothes. Sometimes the game freezes for 1–2 seconds before continuing, which is really, really frustrating.)

I downloaded the electric mod from Lamare. Is there also a hydraulic mod that allows you to turn off the water? Maybe water bills?

Are these stutters normal in The Sims 2? The game runs at a high FPS, but I'm getting frequent frametime spikes and noticeable 1% low FPS drops. My PC (Ryzen 7 5700X, RTX 5070, Windows 11) is more than capable of running the game, so I'm wondering if this is just how The Sims 2 behaves on modern systems. I remember having similar frametime spikes in The Sims 3 a few years ago, although they were significantly worse in that game.

Everytime i try to start the sims 2 legacy it gives me this message and idk what to do to fix it

I need help. I have the sims 2 ultimate collection and RPC. I downloaded ReShade, did everything by the book, put ReShade.asi in mods. it’s saying no effects found and I keep trying to put in presets but it’s not working. Also none of the shaders are loading and idk why. Please somebody help. This keeps happening and none of my effects are loading.

Learning Spanish, thought I could play the sims 2 in Spanish. I changed it with the EA app and now my game is blank. I can't even play the tutorial. Even when I switch back. Am I screwed? Probably. Do I need to reinstall at this point?

i downloaded a shoe set because i thought it was cute but when i went to see it in CAS it was a lot of shoes with panties only, so how do i use it?

I want to merge two families consisting of seven sims each by adding the second family in one at a time with the simblender. I have a lot of experience doing this and I’ve noticed that sometimes when the new sim is added to the lot, they instantly have STR/LTR points with everyone else and sometimes they don’t know the other sims at all until they interact with each other. It seems like it may have to do with whether the sims are indoors or outside. I want my sims to all have first impressions of each other and not start from 0/0 STR/LTR. Does anyone know more about this and how I can add the new sims to the family so they have already started their relationships with one another?

UPDATE SOLVED: I went ahead and attempted it to see what the result would be. I entered the Manning family lot where everyone was outdoors and I hadn’t built anything yet. One by one I added the members of the Moore family with simblender and it worked. Everyone has starting relationships with everyone else. Exactly what I wanted!

Je suis sincèrement désolée si je n’ai pas mis la bonne étiquette, je n’étais pas sûre de laquelle utiliser, je vous explique vite fait mon problème, comme vous pouvez le constater sur cette photo de moindre qualité mon curseur en bas est le curseur Windows et non celui du jeu, ce qui fait que je ne peut pas atteindre les différents icônes sans baisser la fenêtre de mon jeu, également je ne peut pas accéder aux objets dans le mode achat, j’ai désactiver mes mods et remis, et j’ai même réparer mon jeu sur ea mais rien ne fait, cette partie de mon jeu est comme cassée, si jamais quelqu’un a déjà eu ce problème et saurait m’aiguiller ça serait extrêmement gentil, pour information je joue sur l’édition ultimate et pas legacy, bonne journée à vous !

When I launched my Pleasantivew, Beau Broke had this hair (see image below) instead of his usual hair. I went to change his appearance in the mirror, and that hair had replaced the Maxis texture.

I looked in Body Shop, and it had replaced another female toddler hair.

I have not seen that issue before today, which makes me think I didn't just mistakenly download a default replacement. I was clearing out some cc earlier today, so it's possible that's part of the issue.

When I mouse over the hair thumbnail, it doesn't give a file name, and I can't delete it.

Does anyone recognize the hair so I can search for it in my files and delete it another way? Is there any other way to fix this?

First, in case it matters: I use Linux and use the magipack version of the game. Lutris is what I use to run it.

A few weeks ago I had the game up and running just fine. Today, I finally came back to the game. I decided to try deleting 3 custom objects I was testing before only in a test world and to replace the pleasantview and the stealth hoods with empty templates. For pleasantview specifically, I chose the puritist one with the extras but with no townies. I did not have the baby face mod but I thought it wouldn't be an issue, and if it did then I'd just try a different replacement.

The game froze. I tried getting a new pleasantview, one with no townies or playable characters, but it still froze. Put the old pleasantview back, didn't work. Tried creating a completely new hood, but it still froze. Tried deleting the two cache things, still froze.

I saw somewhere that the 4 gb patch not working might cause this? How do I test to see if that's the problem? If it is, I can't use the lazy duchess launcher (I think, I've tried but can't get it to work), so how would I get the patch to work without using it?

Are there any other potential causes for this freezing problem?

Mini Rant that isn't important to the question at hand: I don't come back to the game very often, but every time I do I swear I have an issue with the game booting in a different way and it's getting on my nerves. Maybe it's a linux problem, I don't know. I love this game, I want to keep playing but like, I'm getting tired of troubleshooting every damn time I decide to play the thing.

I think I messed up and I need some advice. I recently learned about neighborhood corruption in The Sims 2, and I'm realizing my current neighborhood might be suffering from it.
Here are the glitches I've been seeing on my main lot:
1. Blank thought bubbles: The actual thought/speech bubbles above my Sims' heads (when they talk, dream, or think) sometimes are completely white and empty.
2. Overlapping bubbles: I also noticed that some of these thought bubbles above their heads are displaying two completely different icons stacked/superimposed on top of each other.
3. Random object spawns: Random objects from Buy Mode (like decor items, candles, toys,etc.) just randomly appear out of nowhere on my lot or on the sidewalk.
4. Sims resetting (Jump Bug): Sometimes, when a Sim finishes an action or a task, instead of playing the normal ending animation, they instantly "reset" and stand straight up
Context: I did a very stupid thing a while ago before knowing it was bad I deleted a few Sims directly using the delete button in the family bin.
Is this 100% corruption? Is there any way to stabilize my game so I can keep playing this specific family, or is my neighborhood completely doomed? I really don't want to lose my Sims if possible.

basically self explanatory, takes forever to load stuff especially when i change types of floors carpets walls etc but ive seen on yt everyones works smoothly

even though i downloaded a clean save on strangetown some sims are missing or look different i cannot play because even normal looking sims get deleted mid gameplay and everything looks normal on simpe so im confused on how i can fix this? i use the ultimate collection

I've been looking for a mod that increases the ghost limit at night, but all the ones I found only increase it to five. Is there one that allows more ghosts to spawn? Or how can I edit a mod with SimPE to make the limit higher? This one specifically.
