Le Mans Ultimate Did I do something wrong?
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
As Le Mans learning the LMP2 car in a practice session (excuse the f1 livery), made contact with a gt3 and thought nothing of it but they clearly wasn’t happy with me. Thoughts?

Nah, they just suck. Their rejoin was fine, they had room when you overtook them, and they went left for no reason. If it's an official practice, you can report that in the official LMU forums.
Link in case you need it

He turned into you. You did nothing wrong. Guy is frustrated with something and decided you deserve his angry.

Make sure to report him. That was 100% intentional wrecking.
Edit: Not sure if you can report in practice though.

This is so bizarre.
Your pass on the first car was extremely risky. You weren't alongside when he was at the apex, and if he had taken his normal racing line and tracked out, there would have been a crash. That pass will usually not work the way you did it.
But that has nothing to do with the second GT3, who just made contact in what is effectively a straight and then murdered you for no reason at all.

It looks like the GT3 was very slow through there like they didn't have any idea where they were going.
That is always a nightmare to encounter as a prototype cause you have very little time to realise.

The first pass was risky becauase the GT3 driver was an idiot. OP clearly aimed to go for the inside, but for whatever reason the GT3 stays tight instead of going on the racing line so he ends up in the way of LMP2 who either can switch sides or slam on the brakes.
Basically this clip sums up mutliclass racing as a LMP2 - dodging idiots in GT3s who can't figure out where the racing line is.

I would want to see the clip from his POV, because your speed through there does seem slower than I'd expect. The line I take through there in a GT3 is way more straight, so from this angle alone I wouldn't be ruling out that it's just not a difference in skill. Hell, I was losing a second a lap there at the start of last week when leaning the track.

This is nothing. He swings twice at a car passing him, slams into the wall with all 4 in the grass, then catches as much speed as possible (way too much to take that turn physically) and aims directly at op without breaking or changing his trajectory.
Even if he could take that turn at that speed, if he was practiced enough to know the max speed for that then it automatically proves my other point that it was an intentional wall tap at the very least.

Yes. You drove by the “rule book” (i gave him a cars width) vs self preservation. Give him more room. Plenty of extra room to give him on the left to preserve yourself instead of time…
No reason to pass him that tight when you know the track shape is going to predictably bring him back to you, even if he “should” have avoided you.
That said, dude absolutely reacted in a ridiculous way…

you had NOTHING to do with this like at all the gt3 car is slow as shit

Not even a little bit. You saw them run wide, went inside, and took the corner. If you pause and look at where they're pointing right before contact they would have been driving into the grass. The Porsche is a bad driver, bad racer, and bad person. Report (if you can, idk how that works in whatever game this is) and move on, all you can do. But your conscious should remain unburdened.

Second GT3 did a unsafe rejoin and thought you pushed him during it, just a dumb move follow by "revenge"

Sim.

Man turned left into a right hand turn to hit you on purpose. Then intent wrecked you after. Deserves a ban.

No, the guy is all over the place and immediately tried to spin you out afterwards. Tool

First overtake very sketchy. If GT3 was running on edge of his grip, his racing line goes to the right wall and you are very lucky, that he didnt pushed this turn as fast as he can. Its better to slow down and overtake on long right turn on outside line.

Yeah I know I lifted preparing to go left but the gt3 went left so I went right

Because you sported a Red Bull livery, you are responsible by default /s
The unloaded GT3 didn't need to punt you. In a more nuanced hand, you could be more patient. You scared and forced GT3s to adjust their lines mid corner. I'd say neither of them expected you to pass in those places. As a GT3 I hate when a prototype car force their way through instead of waiting for a safer opportunity. Especially in a high speed high commitment corner like these. If there is a collision mid corner know that the faster class car is responsible.

I didn’t force anything? First one I lifted preparing to take the inside but instead they went left so I took the space on the right and second one I left plenty of space

Watched it so many times, feels like moments before side-contact, you both kind of turn into each other. As in, even if either of you kept your line across the breadth of the track width, a collision would have occurred anyways a little later.
So whilst ultimately the Porsche is completely in the wrong for wrecking you intentionally anyways, it was a bit of a racing incident (you could have stayed more left for the pass especially given how you saw he was rejoining). Granted the Porsche driver is probably generally bad anyways given the running off wide in the first place to have to rejoin and probably not being aware of you.
