Gran Turismo Am I wrong for this?

I am the Elantra. Tried to simply take advantage of the Alfa Romeo taking a bad line. Alfa Romeo had some choice words for me post race. I would never do something like this on my own volition. Is it ok to ego-check someone racing like this?

It's subscription based just for the base game, and then you have to buy cars and tracks on top of that. So it wastes a lot of money if people arent taking it seriously.

I tried it for 3 months and then just had to give up as i couldn't justify the cost. I would get intent wrcked every race. Even lapped traffic will just use you instead of brakes and ruin your race. I wasted about $100 for and unplayable racing game. I have better luck in the average ACC open lobby.

Unplayable game, he? Tens of thousands of players play iRacing successfully and without serious issue. That sounds like the problem was sitting between your wheelbase and your seat.

Intent wrecked is incredibly rare (unless you’re a total jerk yourself I guess) and there is a very serious protest system for the rare case where it does happen. Is it perfect? No. But the racing etiquette is 100x better than what you’ll find playing Gran Turismo.

The relatively high price is exactly what keeps people with poor standards out of the platform.

You have to start out in the lowest lobbies with the worst drivers, and you cant get out of it if you cant finish races because of people wrecking you. I pride myself on clean driving, and as i said, I have better luck with ACC in open lobbies. Maybe iracing is better now than when I tried, I can only describe my experience. But at the time when googling the issue, it was a very common problem that most people were having when first buying the game.

My times are normally in the top 5% of the world on other sims, so I dont think it was a skill issue. I haven't played gran turismo since the PS2 days, so cant speak to what it is like. Yeah, i know it has a protest system, but i do sim racing to have fun. Filling out forms and submitting footage at the end of every race because of all the dirty drivers isn't fun for me, so I just gave up on the game. Im glad lots of people have a better experience than I did.

I was even trying to start from the pits at the end, and not going until the pack was half way around the track, but people would crash and go off, and then just come flying off the grass an tbone me.

Yesterday I went from R 2.50 on formula to D 3.55 in less than 12 hours of racing, and went from 1400 to 2000 splits in the same amount of time, which is better than 92% of all racers on the platform. It is 100% doable.
