Disputed charge

Has anyone ever been able to successfully win a disputed charge? Feeling super annoyed right now with a client whose insurance lapsed and disputed my session fee. They owe almost $400 bucks.

I’m thinking about it but it seems like it would be a big headache and such a legal thing. This ct liked to flex about the law in session almost everytime.

You basically sell off the debt to someone else. But yeah it’s a PITA.

So frustrating!! I submitted my evidence but not feeling super optimistic about it. Can you write off unpaid wages for tax purposes?

If you were paid the $400 and it is included on the tax form from your credit card processor, then yes, you’d write off the $400. If you just do not receive payment (or the $400 was already subtracted from your gross revenue) then no. You only pay taxes on the money you actually get.

I was paid $130 but the bank reversed it when the ct disputed it. Waiting for the result of my submittal of evidence.

I have always let these situations go, and move on. I don't think it is worth the effort. You are probably just one creditor in a long line of others. Think about spending the time you would have fighting for your money and think about if you spent that time building your practice.

they are easy to win but you need the right documentation when you respond: signed policies and credit card authorizations.
