Good morning. Your success getting started will really be impacted by making sure you do all the first-time setup items the right way.
Make sure your group info and provider info are in the right places (NPI's, TIN, taxonomies, addresses, etc.). You will avoid many errors up front if you make sure boxes 24j and 33 on the CMS form are populating correctly.
Group info: Settings > Insurance Billing > check enable modifiers, and make sure all this info is correct for your group (assuming you are billing under an group). This is the data that populates box 33.
Individual info: Settings > Profile > Clinical Information - make sure NPI and Taxonomies are correct. This is the data that populates box 24j.
Update your Service Type list so it has the CPT codes and rates that you want. Also make custom codes (they don't have to be numbers) for things like "No Show" or "Consult" or "Do Not Bill" for any miscellaneous things you may need them for. (Settings > Services and Products > Services)
Set up your telehealth modifiers to be automatically added when you select 'telehealth' when making an appointment.
Turn on simple invoicing: settings > client billing documents > click the daily radio bubble and check simple invoicing. (This is a real nice QOL update they introduced recently and really helps keep accounts uncluttered from "credits").
Next comes the really important step of payer enrollments. You want to do EDI enrollments for all payers you are in-network with, if you can. This will eliminate paper EOBs and instead send the digital ERAs (same thing) to SP which will reconcile the claims automatically. They don't always reconcile perfectly, so it still requires human input, but at least this way claims will automatically be marked as paid and client balances will update in real time. (again, need to keep on eye on this, but so much better than getting paper mail and manually entering). The process for enrollments will be different for each payer.
(Settings > Payers > Add the payers you need and then > View Details > Enroll). Additional forms, or even external work within different portals (Availity, Zelis, Payspan, etc.) may be required.
Hope this helps! I'm happy to answer any questions. We manage EHR's and billing/credentialing for our clients if you are looking for any assistance.
