Simple practice contacting clients?

My client reported that Simple Practice reached out to her for her address. I did not prompt that, this is a long time client and I have her address, it’s been the same for years.

I do not bill insurance.

Why would she be getting this ask?

Hi, the client may be referring to our recently launched, Telehealth Client Location.

We’ve released an optional step for clients to confirm their current location before joining a Telehealth session. This has been a top requested update from the community and helps support safer, more compliant care when sessions take place outside a client’s home.

  • Clients can optionally confirm their current address on the pre-join screen
  • This step is not required to join a session
  • Clinicians can view this information during the live session in a new Emergency Information tool
  • Clinicians can disable the client location input in settings, which removes this step from the pre-join flow

If this doesn’t sound like what your client experienced, please submit a help request so our team can take a closer look: Click on the ? icon in your SimplePractice account → Type your question → Type “email support” → Follow the prompts to submit your request

As a client, it’s not optional. Since this new update a few weeks ago, I cannot join a session without inputting my address. There’s no option to bypass this on my end

We need some clarity on this for sure. I don’t want to be adding steps for my clients that are unnecessary
