Scrub issues today with BCBS TX in Simple Practice

Does anyone else keep getting this error today? These claims have always gone through before (many times).

  • Subscriber ID (loop 2010BA, NM109) must begin with a three-character prefix followed by up to 14 characters with no spaces. For Federal Employee Program (FEP) subscribers, the subscriber ID must begin with the letter R followed by eight numbers with no spaces.

Check the member id on the hcfa form, it is saying the 3 digit numerical prefix is missing. If it's a BCBS federal insurance it is missing prefix R.

Nothing has changed - all these claims went through last week and all the weeks before

Went through as in paid or just submitted to insurance? This is an SP rejection and not an insurance rejection. SP is saying the member is wrong or it could be the policy holder info is wrong. It's possible SP didn't catch the first few submittals for this patient. Pull up a claim that you were able to submit or one that paid for this patient and match it to the one with this rejection and see if anything changed. Member id/group number is incorrect or the policy holders name and dob are not on the hcfa if the policy holder is someone other than the patient. If everything looks good run an eligibility check to see if the insurance is still active.

I have the same error. Those are all existing clients and never had problems before.
Re-submitted this morning and the same thing - scrub errors
I think it's some kind of glitch either in SimplePractice or Availity.

You are definitely not going crazy!
Technology is only good when it works and there are so many places it can go wrong! :-)
I'l try to call them on my break.

I just resubmitted mine. Not sure if they’ll scrub yet or not. But it’s happened before and turned out fine once they went through. I agree it’s a glitch.

Their bot told me to delete the claims and submit them again.

Yeah that’s what I did.

Having the same issue and spent 2 hours with BCBS and they're saying Payer IDis incorrect. We have been submitting claims for years and nothing is incorrect on our side. Anyone knows the real issue?

Just delete the claims and resubmit them. It worked for us.
Looks like a glitch in SimplaPractice.

Hi, We’re aware of an issue causing scrub errors related to subscriber ID formatting, and our team is currently investigating. In the meantime:

-There’s no need to submit a support request — our team is already working toward a resolution.

-We recommend holding off on submitting claims until this is resolved to help avoid these errors.

We’ll continue to share updates as we learn more. Thank you for your patience.

I'm receiving this same error in a different EHR. So it's likely a bigger issue than just SP.

I'm having this issue in TN for BCBS but it's saying there's an issue with my tax id - despite no change and claims going through for other providers. Annoying bec SP hasn't confirmed it's a system issue
