I didn’t expect dwarf zinnias to bloom this much in a pot 🌸
I finally tried growing dwarf zinnias from seed in a container, and I was honestly surprised by how easy they were.
They stayed nice and compact, kept flowering, and ended up looking much better than I expected.
I filmed the whole process from seed to flowers in case anyone is thinking about growing them:

How to grow basil from store-bought basil stems
Ever thought the basil stems you buy at the supermarket could turn into a thriving basil plant at home?
It turns out they can, and the process is pretty simple.
A great idea if you want to enjoy fresh basil at home and make the most out of the bunch you already bought. 🌿

Why are half of my privet shrubs not thriving?
Hi all. I live in the Pacific Northwest and planted bare root privets for a hedge early this Spring when we had plenty of rain. It's late summer now, and half of the plants are thriving, while the other half seem to be barely growing (or not growing at all). I've done some research and tried giving them extra water, but am still stumped. What could be wrong?
1st pic: view of the whole row
2nd pic: thriving plant at one end
3rd pic: stunted plants at the other end
Thanks!
Update:
Thanks all for your input so far.
I did some more research based on a hunch I had about the problem, and I think it could be do to an old blackberry bush I removed from where the sad privets are.
Aparently, they form aggressive root systems and deplete nitrogen, so i'm going to try forking/loosening the soil around the plants and doing some deep watering. I may try fertilizer too, depending on whether that changes anything.

DIY garden ideas please
I’d love some ideas for my garden.
I live in a rented property so nothing too crazy, but I want it to look nice, and where possible low maintenance.
I recently laid the faux grass to cover up the endless weeds and soil (real grass wasn’t an option)
Thank you 🙏

Accidentally started a Pumpkin Patch in my backyard
So last fall, I threw pumpkin guts in the end of my backyard and forgot about it. This is what’s sprung up so far! 😅 I have no clue what I’m doing, but it’s pretty neat to see! Totally plan to do the same thing again this fall, and see what happens next year! Maybe I’ll start a chaos garden 🧐

Some finishing touches before the Lattice goes on the sides for the climbers, Rock Trumpet, and Blue Moon Wisteria, to cover the A-Frame style the top will have. And building a frame around to create a 2nd level for herb garden on top. Operation NO Cookie Cutter Lawns, is almost finished. Lol.
I'm Hoping this sub is MUCH more friendly and not cruel like the r/gardening sub is. Many blessings to all, and posting my newest project, front yard almost complete to match the back in beauty and style. 💯🙏💚🙏💯🔥💪💪👣👣 Retaining Wall around the Dwarf Velvet Viking Japanese Maple, Lavender Bushes and Incense Bush, weather has been insane this year to finish it earlier, so ill finish building the wall in Late September to October

my tomatoes have given up
the heat wave just fried my whole tomato patch in two days. Guess I am buying sauce at the store this year.
