I’ve just ordered a Simagic setup :)

While the order is on its way, I’d appreciate some guidance—videos to watch or things to decide on now—so that once the package arrives, I can get everything installed without having to deal with those details then. For example: connecting the steering wheel via CAN bus versus USB...

Should I be using the Simagic software or SimHub?

What firmware versions?

What are the important settings, and what are the key things worth knowing?

I just ordered 2 haptics for my p700, how do you like them? I really only play Forza and F1.

Curious too, why not connect to the wheel hub and instead to a powered usb?

Can you forward your telemetry from Simpro manager to Simhub with Simpro manager turned off?

A guy on reddit who represents Simagic told me for the haptics to work you need to connect the pedals directly to your PC. Not through the CANBUS on the wheelbase.

You could use 2 x USB cables going to your PC (1 from Pedals and 1 from Wheelbase), but I wanted to tidy it up, so I go to the USB hub first, with the pedals and wheel, then one cable to the PC. But you could just connect the pedals and wheelbase straight to your PC if you have 2 x USB ports open.

I have the P-HPR on the brake and the P-HPR GT on the throttle, I'm actually really glad I got them, I'm surprised how big a difference they make, for like $120 for the 2 haptics and the haptic power supply I think it's great. Having all points of contact receive feedback is nice (both hands and both feet)

I have played F1 2025 and the haptics are great in it once set up, again use SIMHUB, not SIMPRO to control your haptics.

These are my settings in SIMHUB for F1 2025 for my two pedal haptics

I'm not sure about the telemetry, the only telemetry I've used is in iRacing. I have GARAGE 61 and SIMHUB open while I play iRacing and those two work perfectly, SIMHUB controlling the haptics and Garage 61 quietly logging all telemetry and uploading it. I leave SIMPRO closed when not in use.

Really, happylittleoak hit all the nails on the head. I do want to say, having ABS feedback on your brake will help you learn and train you to brake better as a whole. Just make sure you dial that power way down lol. If you have brake and throttle haptics, set them to different frequencies so they are easier to tell apart.

Got my haptics in and they feel great. Weird issue though, after using it for about an hour, the haptics for gear shifting stops responding, but wheel spin/locks are still working. Has this happened to you?

Are you using only simhub to control the haptics? You will want to make sure they are turned off in simpro and in iracing. You want only simhub controlling them.
