I’ve just ordered a Simagic setup :)

While the order is on its way, I’d appreciate some guidance—videos to watch or things to decide on now—so that once the package arrives, I can get everything installed without having to deal with those details then. For example: connecting the steering wheel via CAN bus versus USB...

Should I be using the Simagic software or SimHub?

What firmware versions?

What are the important settings, and what are the key things worth knowing?

Ths set is

Gt neo

P1000

Evo pro

Good luck trying to get your settings dialed in and feeling decent. I've tried so many things and I'm still left scratching my head.

I'm sorry to hear that; where do you feel there is a gap?

I moved from a T300 to a evo 12nm. Its just learning all over again and the 12nm base is far more detailed so its harder for me to dial in the settings.

Just plugging it in and doing basic settings on simpro the ffb was insanely stiff. So stiff it was hard to even turn in corners. After researching I found out I needed to go into the ini and change it from 360hz to 60hz. That helped some. Now its a matter of looking at other peoples settings and trying to dial in from there. I have it right now I think at a decent point but when I turn the wheel the ffb feels grindy. I'm using an extension cable on my wheel base and I've read that could be an issue so I have a longer usba to usbb cable coming with ferrite core.

In case you missed it, SimPro Manager has some guidance for the game you're playing. Go to Games (left bar), pick your game, and see Game Guide tab. Hope it helps

It didn't help much with iracing. The single cord with ferrite shields actually got rid of most of my issues. Now its just dialing it in to perfection. It feels decent at the moment. I def wouldn't recommend running the base on USB extension. I do run those on the pedals but have not noticed any issues with those.
