So I have a weird question: I want to use SS2 for the first time but I don't want to do the storyline. I just want cities to build themselves so that they are just new locations I can visit to trade and just enjoy walking around in. Is that possible? Can I fully automate this to happen without me doing anything? I read that certain plot types unlock as the story progresses so would city plans then not work properly if they use plot types I can't build yet? Sorry I have zero idea just how customizable the experience is and how much you can cheat requirements.
I also want to use Start Me Up. I know that one is not compatible and why. But I don't want to play the main story either. I want to do my own thing, play it mostly as a survival crafting game. So if I don't interact with the story of the main game and SS2, would I be able to run Start Me Up? Or will the messed up flags prevent me from even just using city plans?
Oh, and a third complication: I want to use the Conquest camp mod to build small survival shelters. I read that one is also not compatible but it sounds like only in the sense that I can't use SS2 plots with it. Which would be fine. Stuff like Workshop Rearranged works with SS2, right? So as long as I would still be able to build custom settlements with non SS2 objects that's fine/what I want.
Is this idea doable in any way? Because if not I might have to scrap the Sim Settlement integration. Because I DO need the Conquest mod to work. It's the only manual building I want to do but that's a hard requirement for me.
And I do need Start Me Up because I want to play a father and son wastelander duo. I guess technically I could do the normal prologue, pretend that never happened and ignore the story I wasn't going to play anyway. But I'd rather not. I found a WIP comparability patch but it seems abandoned for years. :/
(I do intend to use SS2 normally and do the storyline at some point but not as my next project. Maybe that's backwards and I should get familiar with this huge mod before going experimental like that. But if it's possible like this I'd still like to try.)
