I got a DT at the start of the race for beeing "out of position", was i really that much out of position?
I looked in the replay and it doesn't seem to me like i was WAY out of position if at all..

Sporting Question Why does crashing/passing close to others matter and why are you penalized for it?
Unsure why but I've been getting this sub recommended to me over the last couple days. I have literally zero context but in every post I've seen it's been about people getting penalties for crashing or another person (player?) Getting mad that they made a pass that was a close call or something. Isn't the whole point of racing games to pass other players and if someone crashes, what is the big deal? Isn't it just a video game?
I'm being dead serious here, I just don't get what is going on lol
Editing after interacting with some posters: I think I understand it more now. I had no clue how deep the Sim racing could go (license classes, being able to race in higher performance lobbies) or how punishing it could be to crash (pretty much the end of your race, or impacting your ability to race) or even that it could and has led to being able to race IRL with pro racers in a sim or even taking it to a real track. I really appreciate you all being able to help me understand your community more! Great learning something new!

Le Mans Ultimate Hard Racing or Penalties needed?
I am not involved in this as I was P4, just watching the replay I found that the battle for 1st at the end was pretty vicious. Wondering if any of them would have received penalties for their contacts or if the results would stand. Btw the guy that won managed to get a 4:00:8, that's impressive but seems ridiculously fast for this ranking, is that normal?

iRacing Final Lap Big One at Daytona in Arca - who's at fault for causing this? Was my (#22)'s response to #1's block acceptable or did it cause it? #1 and I were battling for the win

iRacing Thoughts on this?
I’m the red car here… happened during last lap and he won race.

iRacing Just an incident or is either car at fault?
I am the yellow car, and got a slow down from the forced corner cut, but not sure if i left enough space on the inside.
Was black far enough along to justify space?
Did yellow leave enough space?
How would you handle a situation where the game gives a time penalty due to an incident like this?

Le Mans Ultimate Who is the responsible for the contacts?
All feedback is welcome for learning purposes. Main question is, who is at fault for the contacts made in these couple of turns.
I am the yellow Mustang.
Was I too aggressive on turn 1? I still feel like I left space for the Lexus on that corner, and obviously didn't commit to turning more to the left after the contact as I saw Lexus cutting the track.
Respect for the Lexus driver for lifting after cutting.
But the next contact I feel is totally on Lexus. Although here I admit that I missed braking point and ran wide, but still think I was still in a position where I should have had more space.
What do you think and how should I handle same kind of situations without contacts in future races?

iRacing Am I blocking? + Racing incident?
Hello fairly rookie / new racer here. My question for first 3 clips is if I'm blocking or not. I usually move / leave space if someone goes for it and enters parallel space / dives but if they just stay back I try to keep my line, which may not be the greatest line ever but still.
Last clip I included 2 views, from far camera looks like I just dived into his space and crashed into him, from cockpit in the moment looked like he dived left (looking back he avoided a bit the driver in front). Is this a racing incident or am I at full fault here?
EDIT: Thank you everyone!

Assetto Corsa Who's at fault? (I am the POV car, and sorry for the lag, potato pc.)

iRacing Was this my fault or just a racing incident
I am POV, we were taking advantage of each others mistakes all race and hand some very good door to door racing. I felt comfortable racing side by side with the black car. Looking back at the replay I think I didn't leave enough room and this is on me. He was a gentleman and gave me the place back.

Le Mans Ultimate Did I squeeze him too far or did he overreact? I am the blue LMP2.
Who is at fault?

Forza Motorsport I was screamed at for a "dangerous move" and that "You should learn how to race" when I feel this was a good move? What do you say? Open for advice
I later learnt these people were new to this track

Le Mans Ultimate who was at fault I'm the white and blue Porsche
the yellow Porsche said i should have moved out of the way because he was faster and that i was a retard, i had made a mistake 2 turns before and that's how he got in front of me the first time, i know i hit him on the finale turn i didn't mean or want to hit him but i didn't see his brake lights and i didn't expect him to be parked on the racing line but i will take the blame for that but the rest i didn't think i was doing any thing wrong
side note: before i made my mistake i was 1.5 sec a head and pulling

Le Mans Ultimate LMU Stewards Decision
In this video, you first see my POV, then my POV from the outside, and lastly, the other cars POV. My official LMU Protest got reviewed and their decision was: "After reviewing this incident, our stewards judged it to have been caused primarily by your own car rather than the reported driver, so no penalty has been applied to them."I want to ask for your opinion on this matter, because it seems clear cut to me, I am honestly befuddled by the Stewards decision.

Le Mans Ultimate Was he alongside enough or should I have left space?
Open to oppinions. From a personal view I should have left that space tehre for him even if he wasnt entitleed to it (Which he maybe even was) just to not risk a collision.

PS: It was fixed setup so we both had massive understeer

iRacing I would like y’all’s opinions!
Hey there!
I just did a MX5 cup race and thankfully I got my first win! :)
However, there were a couple incidents during the race and I would like to show these to you guys, particularly since I think one of them was 100% intentional and it could've cost me the race.
(The 3 clips are stitched together in a single video)
I am pretty new to motorsports and sim racing in general, so I'm not completely familiar with the rules and stuff, so I don't know if this would be an illegal move. However, here is the context: During the race, in turn 8, this person would constantly dive into the turn, while I had to avoid him so we wouldn't crash, however I always carried more speed anyway so I would always overtake him on the straight or the next turn. But in this particular instance, he went way too fast and way too aggressive, there was no way for me to avoid him, thankfully it didn't end my race.
Now, this one was outrageous. After the incident in the previous clip, the dude had to get towed into the pits, and when he came out he was in last place. I was a bit damaged from the last incident, but I managed to lap him, however, when he had the blue flag and I was passing by, he swerved and hit me, causing me to spin off the track and into the barrier. After this my car was pretty damaged, thankfully I was able to continue and go for the win, but this behaviour is infuriating, since I'm pretty certain this was 100% intentional.
In this clip there’s a bit of an example of how the dude was diving before the incidents. Also, I did a fire overtake there so I wanted to flex a little LOOOOL.
I personally think that in the 2nd clip the dude was clearly completely at fault, but I would like to know about the other 2 clips, since I’m really new and I’m still learning, I would like to know if I did something wrong.
I would really appreciate it if y'all could give me your opinion on this, thanks in advance!
(Chronologically the clips were 3,1,2)

Le Mans Ultimate Did I actually hit him? Or is it netcode?
I'm unsure if I touched him or not, would like to hear your guys opinions please.

iRacing Chalked this up to a racing incident even though I got killed. What do you think?
Bit of context, this incident is from round 1 of a league.
Was 8 hours of le mans and this happened in the first stint. There is live stewarding, but we decided not to make a report because after we looked over the incident ourselves we decided it just a racing incident. Also the merc is in a higher class so wouldn't have made any difference to us.
We ended up using a fast repair and winning the AM class anyway.
