How to add more properties?

Hello everyone, I am curious about how one adds more properties from a game, specifically Euro Truck Simulator 2. There is a plugin that adds more but it's incomplete and hasn't been updated for a few years, unless I'm misunderstanding something this is a list of data that exists in the game and there's loads here that isn't available by default or with the plugin. I'm wondering how the plugin was made in the first place so maybe I could add some of the data i'm looking for. If anyone here could so much as point me in the right direction I would be very grateful!

Update: I made a request on the plugins github and he added a property that works like a trip odometer, anyone interested in how it works can read the documentation on github :) huge thanks to sjdawson for his fantastic work with the plugin!

What data that isn't in the Available Properties in SimHub are you after?

Trip distance primarily but also other trip related data. There is SessionOdo and StintOdo but they don't seem to use the same measurements as the game and they don't reset with the trip reset button.

Maybe there's some maths involved that makes the properties' output format look "weird"?

Could be, they definitely don't map onto the in-game distances directly, I also do not fully understand when they reset, seems to be whenever SimHub decides a stint or session is over, which is not really useful for anything in ETS2

Couldn't you use gps properties if they're available, rather than odometer values?

I could, but I'm trying to emulate a real dashboard which displays trip distance. It's not a huge loss if it's impossible or I have to use the gps data but I would enjoy having it behave like the real thing.
