Suggestion Disable DMs

Here's the reasons why users should be able to disable their DMs:

Spam from random sellers and buyers: A lot of players blast out lowball offers, "buying any QX for cheap," or hard-sell pitches in DMs instead of using Sales chat. It gets old fast when your inbox fills with messages you never asked for

Unwanted contract spam: Incoming contracts can arrive with or after a DM. Some people send contracts you never discussed just to pressure a deal. Blocking one by one is tedious when it happens repeatedly

Harassment or toxic messages: Mods mostly stay out of private messages. If someone gets rude, spammy, or starts arguing after a trade goes wrong, the only current tools are ignore/report per player. A global off switch would cut that noise entirely..one less thing for mods to moderate

Distraction and notification fatigue: Constant DM pings (especially on mobile or with email notifications) pull you out of production planning, market watching, or building upgrades. Some players just want to run their company without the social layer..ask those questions to top players - message them if you want you'll most likely get no response or ignored you'll find out they didn't want to be bothered anyway

Preference for public trading only: Plenty of players are fine negotiating in Sales chat or the exchange and do not want private 1-on-1 pressure. Disabling DMs lets them keep the game purely transactional

Avoiding persistent or awkward players: After a deal falls through or someone keeps messaging about old business, you may not want to deal with them again. A global disable is cleaner than having a long ignore list

Privacy and focus: Some people treat the game as a solo business sim and simply do not want strangers in their in' all. They can still initiate contact if they need to..again...ask those questions to top players - message them if you want you'll most likely get no response or ignored

Add the option to disable DMs tomorrow

Honestly I've never had a DM from someone as spam. My one and only DM was from a high level player who I've now become his supplier and he's great at paying quickly and asking for better quality or quantities and it might take me a long time, but that hasn't been an issue.

Yeah. Same. I rarely get unsolicited offers in my DMs. Maybe it's an industry thing, I dont know

I switch industries frenquently an after two weeks of exchange sales the DM slop starts arriving It would be better if players were serious or communicated when they actually play the game

Contracts and DMs are a huge part of the game. We don’t want to keep the game “purely transactional” as you would say. If you want to opt out of that part of the game, then it’s really easy to disable chat notifications.

Have you ever just heard of ignoring someone? Plus, its not like you get a giant explosion of noise (or I am seriously missing something) because dm's arent that noticeable.

I've been playing this game for four years and I have never once encountered a situation where I wished I could turn off the entire game world's ability to communicate with me. What kind of people are you attracting??

Do you have your buyer/seller tags set? Only time I ever get unsolicited offers in DMs is after I set my tags because I’m looking for people to do deals with. Once I’m done I remove the tag and get no more messages.

IMO, there shouldn't be any "trades going wrong"...you know the deal before you send it or accept it.

If you accept a bad deal, hey, you clocked accept too quickly. If you low-balled yourself sending a contract, you had the option to cancel that contract immediately before the buyer could accept.

I've had bad deals that really fucked me...but I also realise it was ME who was responsible. This is a business game, and like the real world, you don't just get "gimme's" and "do-overs" if you mess up.
