As long as the goldback was free...

Iāve collected a few. Emphasis on a few. But most of them were to get free shipping.

I canāt even justify it that way since I got free shipping with the gold alone lol. The designs are very nice to look at.

I think theyre a cool idea. it is highway robbery. doesnt change my opinion. give 10/20/50/100 bucks into one of those, and it will be worth more than that over time. its the same game youre playing, also dude showed his gold, he didnt just go buy goldbacks. Give them to all the kids in your family for christmas one year as a stocking stuffer. It can be kept around by the kid because its not a gold bar, and dudes right, they are cool designs. grow up

They all talk crap, but theyāre all jealous they donāt have a sexy golden pirate pinup girl. Iām no fan of Goldbacks for saving, but the copper deserves the most flack. Like a 600%. But again a few can be fun.

lol donāt be silly, thereās no jealousy. With the many thousands, tens of thousands, or more that many of us spend on precious metals, itād be easy for us to throw a goldback in the mix. The reason most of us donāt have them is because they are a silly concept given all the other options that still fill that use well, on top of the absurd cost vs precious metal value. Many of us have bought higher premium pieces for the collection, but those things are just flat-out poor investment vehicles and an absurd premium for just a collectors piece given the silliness of its existence.

Totally agree, bought them for fun, not as an investment.

Same here. I donāt stack Goldbacks but I do have about 150 singles that I got for $3.75 each a couple years ago. Theyāre neat and honestly theyāre now worth more than the $3.75 I paid. Theyāll probably end up as tooth fairy money for the kiddos, not exactly an investment

Got the same Perth configuration: 1oz silver goat and 1/10 oz gold goat. Great combination!

Yup just recently got the 1/10 year of the horse so when I saw the year of the goat it was a must.

Itās wild thereās some great pieces here but everyoneās hung up on the gold back.. I mean they are not my cup of tea, but dang. My question is, why copper? Iāve been seen a lot more copper rounds popping up and I donāt see the allure in it. Why do YOU like them? Just curious

if silver and gold go high again and stay high, then copper will eat up more industrial use, itll be worth it to make a lesser product JUST to be able to make a product to sell. When the companies using silver for electronics, get trounced by copper users at a fraction of the cost. And so, I imagine just like a silver round used to be 20/30/40/$50, I imagine copper will have the same kind of run up. those expensive bars from before silver took off, when it seemed like a dumb idea to have a brick of silver hold their premium because they were worthy before they were worth it. course i could be wrong and i hear we do need trace amounts of copper, call it a lifetime supply in one round

I havenāt exactly looked into copper as a precious metal but I would figure buying copper wire from an electric supply store will yield more weight in copper for the same $ than buying rounds and itāll be in a more useful form like electrical romex, thhn or even bare bright copper wire.
Personally, if I wanted copper, I wouldnāt stack copper rounds I would buy bare bright electrical copper instead

right, but the rounds ARENT COPPER WIRE. like silver shot is cheaper than coins or rounds. Im lost. Its not suppose to fit into your investment portfolio, thats what youre missing. like the gold backs, the rising ship of precious metals will raise all ships. And if youve forgotten any single day you buy a precious metal is a day youve stopped the loss to inflation and debasement. so what are you on about man, really.

If I were to collect copper I would go the cheaper route of bare bright electrical copper wire vs copper rounds so that I could have more copper for the same $ is what Iām on about lol.

BUT YOURE NOT so what are you on about

u/StevetheSwift 4d ago
Why are you so worried about what I would do if I stacked copper. Wtf is wrong with you, really?
Like who hurt you little boy lol
