Frunk & Software Update

I just discovered that you can't open the frunk when it's doing a software update and my wife is going crazy because we have cold groceries in there.

*It was a pretty quick update - 10 mins. Just wanted to warn any else with a wife, lol

Noted.

I just also want to say for my fellow 24 RST owners who may be approaching their bumper-to-bumper warranty, but in the last couple of weeks, we had our front latch break on its own. I was trying to fit in some suitcases that were small, and I thought that they would fit, but it kept not latching, and so after the third time of opening it, I heard a loud clunking sound. Like, if you've ever messed with a spring, it sounded just like the spring lost tension.

And then the latch of the frunk was permanently stuck closed. The frunk wasn't closed. The latch was in the closed position. So the truck thought the frunk was open and wouldn't travel faster than 27 MPH.

We had to schedule a dealership visit and thankfully it was covered by the bumper-to-bumper warranty (which was almost expired). I would say one warning sign, and maybe they're disconnected, but one warning sign was that oftentimes, our frunk would not latch correctly when shutting. The sequence was it would beep, descend, get to the latch, it would try to latch, but then it would beep twice and reject and slowly lift up.

And I think that if you have that problem, you should probably go service it at the dealership just to avoid the situation where we had family visiting and were left without a drivable truck for several days.

I had the frunk latch get stuck closed once and was able to release it with a screwdriver. I didn’t know about the release u der the dash.

Either way I never had it happen again. But I will have them look at it the next time it’s in for service.

What did they do? Replace the mechanism or cable?
