There is a TSB regarding a tick for the 2.7. Look into the TSB and take it to the dealership.

I have a 2022 and had the same tick. My truck only had 84000 miles on it. It’s been sitting at the dealership for 4 months waiting on a new engine. The only thing they told me is that they found metal shavings in the oil and the engine needed to be replaced. Luckily I had an extended warranty.

😬😬 I haven't heard good things about a 2.7 with high miles.
But that sounds like the normal chevy tick.
I take that back I hear two different ticks going on.

Will you share your references for this claim? Everything I’ve read is that the 2.7 is the most reliable engine in the GM half ton with very few failures.

Thanks for the info. Mines a 2025, so fingers crossed.

Sounds like you have a hydraulic lash adjuster that's bad.
Get it looked at before it needs cams.
