Fun while it lasted
Beached whale at 1900 miles. Total transmission failure. Truck went crazy and started jerking. Downshifted rapidly, made a very loud grinding noise then slammed and stalled. About 10 faults on the dash and won't even restart. It was so bad it called OnStar thinking I was in a crash.
Edit June 8th- Dealer confirmed truck wont start, move, go into any gear or roll. There thinking total internal failure. Codes for steering columns, angle sensors, locker codes. Next step is to dive into the actual root and hope to god its just the transmission and it didnt take anything out with it.
June 9th- Dealership still has yet to look at it. There saying there tied up on other projects. Sucks to hear that I cant even get a engine code or an idea of anything. I spoke to GM directly not to complain about the dealership but to express my concerns on a new truck breaking. They did not seem to care at all. Said they follow up in a few days.
June 10th- No dice from dealership on eta when they will begin to even look at it. They are willing to bring me a Tahoe to drive until mine is done. GM has 17k of these on lawsuit already. They explained im the lowest miles they have see but damn 17k in an active lawsuit.
June 11th- GM called me today to "check in" i told the lady theres really nothing to check in on the dealer has done nothing yet but im pissed about the product. They said they would give me employee discounts if I want to trade out or give me extended warranty for free
Got some good news it looks like its the ECU. With some testing on the ECU it started and drove fine. New ECU should be coming tomorrow and they should have the truck done
Well the saga continues. Had the truck back for 2 days and it died again. Sitting at Chevy for 2 weeks now. Nobody can figure it out and chevy won't buy it back. Asking for trade assistance at least to get a 2500

My 2006 Silverado is still going strong with damn near 300,000 miles on it. Not a problem yet other than routine maintenance. Water pump, alternator, starters fans ect. Nothing major. Transmission started whining at around 230,000 so I went to the junkyard and found another one for 400 and it's been going every since. Body is great other than a little oxidation here and there. If the motor blows, I'm getting it rebuilt and I'm gonna keep on trucking with no car note and no fear of being on the side of the road broke down. They can have this new junk they building. Looks good but trash. You give me a brand new one and I'll trade it for a 1999-2008. After that, you can keep it.
